What is the cut-off rank for GATE for an MBA at NITIE?

EB
Epsita Bose Posted On : March 24th, 2022
PGDIE Industrial Engineering, National Institute of Industrial Engineering

NITIE Mumbai GATE cutoff stays around 650. For 2021 the required GATE cutoff was 609 (for general category).

A score of around 750 is considered good for getting an interview call from the institute. However, converting the call into admission is a different story altogether. For final selection, the institute also considers past academics, work experience, and performance in GD-PI.

What are the chances of your selection in IOCL, BPCL and NITIE Mumbai if you scored a rank of nearly AIR 1000 in the GATE from the mechanical stream?

KC
Kyra Chauhan Posted On : August 16th, 2021
MBA from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) (2019)

If you are looking for a selection to the college, it will highly depend on if you have been called for an interview.

Now when it comes to institutes like IOCL, BPCL, NITIE, and many other PSUs, if you have an AIR of 1000 for mechanical engineering, your chances of bagging an interview will entirely boil down to the reservation system.

  • If you are from the general category or the upper creamy layer of OBC, you will probably not be called for an interview.
  • But you can then apply at some other lower PSUs.
  • But, if you are from the lower OBC categories, there are slightly greater chances of being called for the interview, about 35%.
  • When it comes to SC and ST candidates, they have some really good chances of being called for an interview. These stand at about 85%.
  • For physically disabled students, your chances are quite high, about 100%.

Lastly, if you are called for an interview, you are going to face a panel of experts who may or may not stick to your subject of preference. So, you should definitely brush up on all your syllabus. This includes general aptitude and mathematics.

What could be the cutoff for NITIE PGDIM through CAT for NC-OBC?

AG
Anshul Garg Posted On : March 7th, 2023
BSc maths honours from University of Delhi (2021)

NITIE offers the PGDIM course, and the NITIE Mumbai CAT cutoff is based on CAT 2022. The minimum expected cutoff required for the general category students would be 95 percentile to get admission to NITIE Mumbai.

Admission to PGDIM is done through the percentile scored in CAT. These are the latest cut-offs and they depend on the no. of total applications and several other factors.

Below is the expected NITIE Mumbai CAT cutoff 2022 for the PGDIM course for the academic year 2022 for various category students.

Category

Cutoff Percentile

General

97

OBC

65

SC

65

ST

65

PWD

75

The cut-off that is officially mentioned for PGDIM/PGDSEM for an OBC candidate is above 65 percentile. But, I would suggest aiming for a percentile around 80–85, which will increase your chances of conversion.

The candidates are no longer given admission based on the AIIMS entrance exam and they are required to appear for NEET to be eligible for M.B.B.S. admission.

The NEET percentile cutoff is 50 for General candidates, 45 for General-PwD candidates, and 40 for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates. The AIIMS MBBS NEET Cut off 2023 hasn’t been released yet so I am mentioning last year's cutoff for a slight idea of the same.

Does NITIE call CAT/GATE qualified candidates for PGDIE? Or only GATE

MC
Minal Chaturvedi Posted On : March 15th, 2023
Studied at NITIE

NITIE offers admission to its Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE) program based on a candidate's performance in either the Common Admission Test (CAT) or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).

Candidates who have a valid GATE score are eligible to apply for admission to the PGDIE program. However, in addition to GATE scores, candidates can also submit their CAT scores to be considered for admission.

NITIE uses a merit-based selection process that takes into account a candidate's academic performance, work experience, CAT/GATE scores, group discussion, and personal interviews. The weightage given to each of these factors may vary from year to year.

Candidates who have qualified for either the CAT or GATE exams are eligible to apply for admission to NITIE's PGDIE program. The institute takes a holistic approach to admissions, and the final selection is based on several factors, including a candidate's performance in the qualifying exams, work experience, and performance in group discussions and personal interview rounds.
