How are the hostel rooms in AIIMS Jodhpur and in AIIMS Bhopal?
The state of hostel rooms at AIIMS Bhopal is better than AIIMS Jodhpur.
AIIMS Jodhpur has single occupancy rooms with attached washrooms. The balconies are congested. There are no LAN facilities in the hostel. There is a common mess in a separate building. The hostels have well-constructed sports courts.
AIIMS Bhopal hostels have better furniture. They provide basic amenities like a bed, table, chair, mattress, drawer, etc. About 3/4th of the wall has wooden furnishing. Rooms have wall-mounted bookshelves. The balconies are open and have adequate space. Rooms don’t have attached washrooms. But each floor has a washing area with 3-4 bathrooms and toilets. Hostels have 24*7 LAN facilities.
Is AIIMS Jodhpur a good choice?
AIIMS Jodhpur is one of the most popular campus and also better than every other state medical college. It is a centrally funded institute that enjoys a large budget for it's activities like research.
An excellent curriculum is provided to the students. AIIMS Jodhpur faculty are highly experienced who are easy to talk to. The institute offers courses in both PG and UG medical education in all its branches and related fields, along with nursing and paramedical training.
It is one of the 6 new AIIMS established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. Its aim is to create a balance in the health department by providing proper education and medical training to their students.
What are the hostel rules for AIIMS Jodhpur? Is it strict as compared to other AIIMS?
Following are some of the facts you should know about AIIMS Jodhpur hostel facilities:
- After 10:30 PM, you will not be allowed outside the hostel. This includes both boys and girls. If someone wishes to have an Overnight Pass, they can obtain it the same day.
- Both male and female students are provided a Single Room throughout MBBS.
- The rooms consist of a cooler, proper and well maintained beds, mattresses, a table and a chair.
- There is no restriction on the number of gate passes one requires.
- Vehicles are not allowed, but many students keep them. Some of the seniors also have their own cars.
- ACs have been installed by some senior students in the PG hostel.
- Trespassing to other hostels are not allowed, for both boys and girls.
Majority of the rules are the same as other colleges. The hostels usually during your initial years might come across as strict but eventually everything lightens up.

Yes, there are guest houses available for parents in AIIMS Rishikesh, Bhopal, and Jodhpur.
AIIMS Jodhpur
- It has a total of 13 rooms in the Guest House.
- They have 3 Suites.
- They have 8 Double bedrooms and 2 single bedrooms.
AIIMS Bhopal
- AIIMS Bhopal has 14 functioning rooms in the guest house.
- All rooms have double beds with internet facilities.
- 2 of the rooms are suites and they are free of cost.
- Guests of faculty or staff members for official purposes are INR 250 per day and the suite is INR 550.
- Other guests (non-official or personal) are INR 550 per day and suites at INR 1050.

According to several reviews online, I got to know that many have preferred JIPMER over AIIMS Jodhpur. Here are some things you need to know before enrolling yourself.
- AIIMS Jodhpur has 15 seats out of which 5 are for sponsored candidates. A written exam and a personal interview will be conducted for admission.
- JIPMER admits 30 students on an yearly basis out of which 5 seats are reserved for sponsored candidates.
- The course fees at JIPMER are lesser than AIIMS.
- Living in Pondicherry is also affordable.
- JIPMER conducts an entrance exam of 100 MCQ from preventive and social medicine. No personal interview takes place.
- JIPMER offers quality academics, facilities and faculties. It is essentially a medical science institute.
JIPMER will be shortly opening its international public health school which is a big step in itself. It is suggested that you understand that a degree in public health needs a dedicated professional. So choose only if you are exactly sure about it.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of studying in AIIMS Jodhpur?
Some of the advantages of studying at AIIMS Jodhpur are academics at the same level as Delhi colleges, brilliant faculties, access to library and e-library, ragging-free campus, well-furnished single accommodation rooms, and decent mess food.
Disadvantages of AIIMS Jodhpur are its remote location and no outdoor life. Academic pressure leaves little room for enjoying college life.
If someone got selected in JIPMER, AIIMS JODHPUR, BHU or AFMC then which medical college he/she should prefer to join?
Choosing among the above mentioned colleges is completely an individual’s decision, as this could depend on several factors like location, fees, academic curriculum, etc. Here are some facts about these institutes, which will give you a basic idea of them.
AIIMS Jodhpur:
- It is among the 6 new AIIMS.
- The seniors here can guide you through your journey.
- The associated hospital has also taken its shape.
- But, some candidates prefer AIIMS Bhopal over this as it ranks below.
- So, overall it is not a good choice.
JIPMER Puducherry:
- It is the AIIMS of Southern India.
- The best students in this region who don’t opt for AIIMS, New Delhi, join this institute.
- There is a 33% reservation on PG seats for students who have passed MBBS from this institute.
IMS BHU, Varanasi:
- It is another grand and prestigious medical college in the country.
- It is a beautiful, lush, green campus of the Banaras Hindu University.
- IMS also has seats reserved in PG courses for those students who have passed MBBS from here.
AFMC Pune:
- It is one of the prestigious medical colleges in the country.
- If you wish to serve in the Army, Navy or Air force as a doctor this is your option. Only problem is that there’s a minimum of 7 years liability to serve in the armed forces against an indemnity bond of INR 25 lakh.
- But, there’s reservation in PG seats for AMC and Ex-AMC candidates.
If you are selected in all these institutes then you should go for either JIPMER or IMS BHU. As AIIMS Jodhpur is a very new establishment and AFMC is for the ones who prefer to join the army. Choose the one that gives you a locational advantage as well.
What should be my choice between AIIMS Bhubaneswar AIIMS Jodhpur AIIMS Raipur AIIMS Rishikesh?
All of these AIIMS are on equal levels with one another. Infrastructure, faculty, and facilities are remarkably similar, so don't undercut any of them. So, excluding these, make your decision based on personal factors.
Remember that it is a common misconception that Raipur is unsafe and least developed. AIIMS Raipur is a wonderful institute that none of you regret attending. They have also achieved some outstanding results in PG. So give it some thought and join any of the institutes you want.
How is life and experience at AIIMS Jodhpur for MBBS?
One of my friends studied at AIIMS Jodhpur. According to her it has been a really good journey from her 1st year to the internship.
- The campus was very welcoming.
- They had centralised AC buildings and clean interiors.
- You get a room all to yourself unlike other college hostels.
- There are strict rules against ragging. The seniors here are genuinely helpful and will guide you properly during your initial days of college.
- First few months you will have to follow strict hostel rules which eventually get lenient.
- The downside here is that there is nothing to do outside the campus. It is usually mundane but you can take weekend trips or hike to the nearby places.
- You will also get to witness the development of the campus alongside.
- The clinical exposure here is wonderful witnessing many cases - typical and atypical.
- The place transforms when a college fest is held. They make the campus more beautifully decorated.
- Since the sports facilities are excellent most of the students are involved with it.
- Many clubs have also been initiated.
Overall, MBBS here is really great. The city of Jodhpur might not be comparable to New Delhi but it has an essence of its own which is quite unique.
Is it worth taking AIIMS Jodhpur or AIIMS Rishikesh in the second counseling, if I am allotted AIIMS RAIPUR in the first counseling? My domicile is Andhra Pradesh.
Given your location, AIIMS Raipur may be the best option for you. Students should not believe that any of the 2012 AIIMS is superior to the others. The primary issue arises when people begin comparing AIIMS colleges based on the last rank attained. But it's a little indecisive.
Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha are the northern states with the highest number of NEET and AIIMS admissions. As a result, students tend to select AIIMS near them, which has a large gap between the last ranks.
Because of nearly equal funding, each AIIMS college now has something to talk about, and management decides which area they must focus on.
