IT giants like Google and Facebook do not visit MIT Manipal for campus placements however that does not mean that students of this college dont make it to these IT giants. We have examples of a few alumni who are now working in these companies.
Let me tell you an interesting fact. Companies like Google and Facebook dont recruit on the basis of your college credibility or grades. They have a fixed mark set up for their employees, and everyone who qualifies for this mark gets hired. So the college from which you completed your graduation has nothing to do with your chances of getting employed by IT giants like Google and Amazon. All you need is a good knowledge of data structures and algorithms and a passion for computer science.
MIT Manipal is a well-reputed college amongst IT companies in general so you shouldn't worry about job opportunities in the IT sector at least. You can apply to these IT giants through portals like Google Careers, etc., and also participate in competitions like Google Code Jam, Facebook Hacker Cup, ICPC, etc, You can also contribute to various open source projects through GSOC, etc.
So it's safe to conclude that there is no dearth of opportunities at MIT Manipal and you are likely to end up in companies like Google and Facebook by applying off campus.
Which is better, IIT Guwahati for CSE or IIT Delhi for EE?
Although both programs are good, I would still recommend IIT Delhi EE over IIT Guwahati CSE. Here are a few reasons that support my recommendation
- Better job opportunities: The EE department covers various CSE courses making its students eligible to sit for all CSE companies for placements. These companies include Microsoft, Tower Research, Goldman Sachs, etc. Additionally, the students also have the advantage of offers from core EE companies like Nvidia, Intel, and AMD.
- Great location: Due to its prime location, IIT Delhi is close to many places to explore in Delhi. Some of these are Connaught Place, Khan Market, HKV and the list goes on. Delhi also has better transportation and connectivity than Guwahati. Plus, Delhi has better transport connectivity and is way easier to reach than Guwahati.
- College Fests: Rendezvous, IIT Delhi's annual cultural fest is the biggest of its kind in North India. There is also Tryst, the tech fest, and Sportech, the sports fest.
- Amazing startup culture: IIT Delhi is known for its highly encouraging startup culture. Out of the 30 unicorns founded by Indians in the last few years, 15 of them were founded by IIT Delhi Alumni. IIT Delhi helps you with finding, ideas and the necessary resources for startup.
- Branch change: While branch change might be difficult in other IITs, IIT Delhi has an easy branch-changing policy with over 100 students changing their branches every year.
Hence, IIT Delhi EE is a better option than IIT Guwahati CSE.
Which is better, IIT BHU electronic or IIT Guwahati mechanical?
IIT BHU and IIT Guwahati are well-established and reputed institutions in India. Both of them have pros and cons. If you are looking to have a career in the mechanical field, IIT BHU is a good option for you. They are best at placement support and academics, and you will have the advantage of the branch change policy. Let us have a detailed comparison between IIT BHU and IIT Guwahati
Placement – The recruiters from major companies mostly give placement to the students from IIT BHU. Which is a better choice, engineering physics at IIT Delhi or CS at IIT Ropar?
I will recommend you opt for Engineering Physics only if
- You have a great interest in physics and want to conduct research or pursue higher studies in it like a Master, Ph.D., and Postdoc
- Do you want an IIT tag to target different things like UPSC, Banking, etc
A few points one needs to know regarding Engineering Physics
- No job opportunities for UG students in the core Physics Department of top Indian government research organizations.
- Companies like DRDO, ISRO, and BARC offer core jobs to MTech students only
- The usual trend is to opt for Engineering Physics and then go for Masters and Ph.D.
- Students of the Engineering physics department can opt for a minor degree from another department like CS by attaining a certain limit of credits. Nevertheless, he will be considered a physics graduate and not CS.
IIT Ropar despite being a new IIT offers decent opportunities in terms of higher studies as well as job opportunities. He can work with top research organizations like ISRO and BARC or even work at reputed firms.
Concludingly, IIT Delhi is a good choice if your primary interest is physics and higher studies. If you are looking for a high-paying CA-related job, then IIT Ropar is for you.
What is a better option, NIT Durgapur for chemical or NIT Rourkela for biotechnology?
The choice of an institute depends on 2 major factors, the credibility of the institute and the branch you are getting. In terms of the worth of the institute NIT Rourkela clearly overpowers NIT Durgapur. NIT Rourkela ranks second in East India after IIT Kharagpur.
NIT Rourkela Biotechnology is designed for students whose primary focus is pursuing qualitative research and g for a Masters's or Ph.D. That being said, it has limited job opportunities and the placement percentage is as low as 60%. Moreover, only a handful of core companies make offers and the average CTC offered is in the range of 5 -6 Lakhs.
NIT Durgapur Chemical Engineering is a suitable choice if you prioritize placements to research work. Even the core placements are decent here with companies like IOCL, etc visiting the campus during placements.
Ultimately, both institutes and branches offer diverse opportunities so you need to consider your inclinations first. If you are a research enthusiast, NIT Rourkela Biotechnology is great but if your first preference is earning money, then go for NIT Durgapur Chemical Engineering.
How is Jaipur National University for a BTech?
One of my friends is a student of Jaipur National University. According to him, it is a decent institute to pursue your B.Tech.
Infrastructure:
- The entire university is divided into three structures: Seedling, Silas, and the main campus. The infrastructure is very beautiful and provides a lot of facilities to its students.
- The classrooms are built with duct facilities to prevent the heat and the labs are well maintained with all the latest equipment and proper working stuff.
- There is a wifi connection available in every part of the campus.
- There is also a hospital available inside the campus of this university that provides free medical check-ups to all its students and also provides medicines at very low costs.
- There are canteens in all three areas of the university and you will find coffee machines and other necessary stuff inside the canteens.
Faculty:
The faculty of this university is very good and they have years of experience in teaching. Many of them are IITians and have also completed their M.Tech. They are very helpful in nature and help the students in building and making their project works.
Placements:
- The placements of this university are good and almost 80% of its students have got placed through campus placements.
- A lot of top companies such as Amazon, Infosys visit the campus for interviews and recruit many students.
- The average package offered here is around 3-3.5 LPA and the highest package offered was around 12 LPA.
Hence, Jaipur National University is a very good institute to pursue B.Tech and you should definitely consider this university as one of your options.
Is Reva University a good choice for b.tech in Bangalore?
Pursuing B.Tech from REVA University, Bangalore is a good choice. It offers advanced teaching and learning resources to students. The coursework includes studies of interdisciplinary topics and learning resources. These help students become industry ready.
