Dr. Shivli Nomani is currently serving as the Principal at Bihar College of Pharmacy, Patna. With several years of teaching and administrative experience in the field of education, she has attended a number of seminars, workshops and symposiums at national and international level. Also, Dr. Shivli has presented research papers in several conferences nationwide.
What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
“Education is the key to develop a great nation”
Education is the backbone of the overall development of any country. Education and health care are the key factors for tackling the challenge of the present as well as future. It will train the future generation of the country and world. I live by the philosophy that every service for the benefit of the society is a service to the nation and this is the primary belief that keeps me connected to this field.
How would you describe your leadership style?
“Being responsible and responsive”
A leader is one who leads the team and takes responsibility. Leadership is a combination of humility and discipline. Knowing that there are thousands of students and colleagues who look up to you, it is a responsibility for the person that he lives a life that is inspirational and motivating.
How do you strategize the key plans for the administration of your college?
“Designing strategies and implementing with full support from staff”
I am supported by a very competent team of teachers and non-teaching staff whose valuable suggestions and support are the most important factor behind the success of all our programs. Moreover, we have an extremely revered group of governing body members whose supervision and advice help us to strategize well and implement our programs effectively. The core idea that has been critical for the success is that we try to ensure that our schemes are beneficial for all, especially the underprivileged and the people from the marginalized communities and maximum students are able to benefit from it.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practice of industry?
“Well-established facilities and practical training”
To remain updated with the latest trends, we consistently strive to ensure utmost excellence in our teaching style and infrastructural capabilities. Our syllabus follows the
prescribed PCI guidelines and our labs are equipped with the latest technological resources to provide the best possible practical training to our students. Further, to encourage interaction with the stalwarts of the industry, seminar courses and faculty development programs are organized for the students and teachers respectively on a regular basis.
What do you think of your roles and responsibilities to the college?
“Maintaining a healthy learning environment”
I have received immense love and support from not only my students but also from the members of my Governing Body all of whom are extremely respected and learned dignitaries in their own field. So, I take it as my responsibility to take care of the smallest to the biggest needs of all my staff members, strive to maintain positivity and discipline in the college campus and ensure the spree of learning. My role is to work upon to the best of my capability for the excellence of my college.

What do you think should be the college’s top priority over the next 10 years?
“Wider reach and recognition at national level”
Being a 41-years-old college and having a really impressive alumni network, Bihar College of Pharmacy is already seen as a premier institution in Bihar. Given that, the utmost priority for us in the next 10 years is to make it appear in the list of the most premier institutions of India as well. This is critical as it will not only be beneficial for our students and bring pride for our alumni but will also bring immense honor for our state as well.
