What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

"It is to provide them the best knowledge of programming languages"

Being a computer science teacher, I am responsible for giving programming knowledge and skills to my students to help them understand how computers work. Also covering scientific and mathematical concepts behind them and their hardware and software components is what constitutes my daily routine as part of teaching.

How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

"I ensure that they feel connected and valued with me"

To establish a healthy relationship with my students and fellow faculty, I first try to know their stories by having an open communicative environment. I also like to spend one-on-one time with my students, especially with those who are struggling in a related field. And I listen to them carefully by being honest and real. Then I share my own stories and experiences with them. Because what I believe is that communication is a two-way process. 

How do you introduce a practical and industry-oriented approach towards subjects?

"By encouraging them to focus more or coding skills and through regular connect sessions"

I encourage my students to focus more on coding and also connect with them on a regular basis to discuss the latest technologies which are in demand in the market. Students are asked to do live projects so that they can be made industry-ready.

Which best practices are offered by the department to students to help them gain necessary skills? 

"We offer the best training and guidance to them"

We give expert training on various necessary technologies by the best trainer to our students. Students have to study co-curricular subjects like personality development, and career guidance. We also include them in activities like G.D and social causes like NCC.

How do you strategize and update the curriculum to make it befitting for the students?

"Our curriculum is backed by seminars, training programs and professional visits"

To keep ourselves and our students updated with the latest industry happenings, we offer various connect sessions where experts give lectures on specific topics. And activities like seminars, workshops, webinars and motivational lectures are also organized on a regular basis.

How does your department prepare students for placements?

"By organizing English speaking classes and group discussions"

I believe that Placement is the key to success for every department. Hence we prepare our students from the beginning by conducting group discussion classes, English speaking and communication classes each semester. And with respect to higher education, our students are given extra knowledge of that particular field through NPTEL. 

How do you help your student to cope with this competitive world?

"By giving them training in the latest technologies"

To make our students stand apart from the crowd in this competitive world, we train them in the latest trends and technology in demand in the market.

Which extracurricular activities are organized in college to enhance the skills of students?

"Activities like guest lectures, presentations and projects and conducted"

Our college does organize activities like PPT presentations, expert lectures, Industry visits, and workshops. They are also assigned live projects and internship opportunities where they can implement their classroom learnings. Apart from these, social outreach, discipline and extracurricular activities(SODECA) are mandatory each semester. 

What are the challenges you faced while uplifting the quality of education of your department? 

"To update our students as per day to day changing technologies"

There are actually multiple challenges that we have faced on multiple levels while enhancing the education quality of our department. To name a few, due to ever-changing technologies, we face difficulties in upgrading our students in the latest technologies and regular studies. 

When you came to college, what was your vision and how are you trying to achieve the same?

"To educate students as per their level of understanding"

When I came to this college my vision was very clear and it was to teach our students as per their level of understanding to enhance their knowledge. And to achieve this goal, I read good articles, attend expert lectures on FDPs, etc.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practices of the industry?

"Live projects and expert training are a regular part of it"

To include industry best practices in our curriculum, we conduct expert training and live project training for our students.

How does your college enhance the skills of faculty and prepare them according to the industry standards?

"With the help of FDPs and conferences"

We regularly organize Faculty Development Programs, conferences and training programs to update the skills of our students on the latest industry technology.

"I do use the feedback mechanism to have a more interactive session with my students"

I use the approach of a feedback mechanism where I continuously take feedback from my students and faculty about the programs we provide to our students. The main aim of this is to clarify whether we are achieving our set goals or not. 

What do you see as your college’s greatest strengths?

"Our teamwork makes us resilient"

The teamwork of our faculty and staff members, our strong work culture, and the sports activities we conduct for our students are what make us strong and unique.

Any valuable advice would you like to give to the students to have a prosperous career ahead?

"Stay focused and keep upgrading yourself"

I would like to advise my students to keep updating their skills, stay focused and maintain a balance between their personal and professional life.
