IAMR GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Education sector gives us the ability to stay updated, active and energetic”

The education sector is evolving and to be a part of this sector, I always wanted to upskill and be relevant in today’s scenario. Also, the variety of people you come in contact with, the changing challenges, combine to make teaching an interesting and engaging adventure.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

“Active demonstration of tasks and equal participation”

My leadership style can be defined as straightforward, with a strong emphasis on leading by example. I enjoy delegating and taking the lead on various projects, but also like to inspire my team. I believe that my leadership strengths are effective delegation and communication.

What are your responsibilities to the institute and the students?

To provide them with a globally relevant education and ensure they are able to compete in an international market”

  • Emphasizing more on quality research work from the learned pool of faculty
  • Offering a wide variety of specialization and subjects which enhances their employability chances
  • Encouraging faculties to conduct MDPs and provide consultancies to the corporates
  • Enable students to have international experiences during their studies at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Provide all students with skills related to employability and job creation
  • More PDP sessions for the students to become a thorough professional, a true business leader and a better human being
  • Better connect with the alumni and inviting them to their institution to interact with the current students

What has been your vision for the institute?

“Provide education that enables students to be intellectually, socially, and culturally responsible”

When I joined IAMR as a Group Director, my vision for the institute was to make IAMR one of the emerging and recognized institution of northern India. The vision which I had seen a few years back for my institution has evolved over a period of time. Quality education, dynamic curriculum and higher rankings are our priorities. Everyone associated with the institution has been making a great contribution in achieving the institution vision.

What do you see as IAMR's greatest strengths?

“Research-based activities are at the forefront of our departments”

IAMR is an old institution established to impart quality education. The institution offers a dynamic environment for high-quality research in all programs like management, life sciences, physiotherapy, technology, law, education, mass communication etc. It is designed to benefit different strata of society and community.

What are some of the biggest challenges for higher education currently?

“Lack of R&D activities along with downgrading in quality of education”

The biggest challenges which higher education is facing are:

  • Decreasing quality of teaching
  • Less emphasis of an institution on research and consultancy
  • Shortage of well-qualified faculty
  • Institutions inability to retain well-qualified teachers

The biggest challenges which IAMR is facing are:

  • The demand-Supply gap in the number of enrolments
  • University curriculum need to be in sync with the industry requirement
  • Students obtaining education loan is still a nightmare
  • Companies need to consider B and C category colleges for campus hiring and allow students to join their companies.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth?

A right process always leads to the right output”

The suggestion that I would like to give is that students need to be more focused and work on the process rather than worrying about the output. The output in terms of good company, good profile and the good package will automatically come if the students work on the process right from the beginning of the course.

What are some plans that you're currently designing for IAMR students?

“Certificate courses in data analytics, financial planning and supply chain management”

Currently, we are planning to have value-addition short-term certification courses for our students to enhance their employability. The certification courses in data analytics, financial planning, supply chain management will open the door for our students with various sectors. It will also be widely accepted by the corporates as they would be getting super-specialized manpower and just need product training. We are in the process of a strategic tie-up with some foreign universities for our various programs. But, before that our main objective is to get our institution NAAC Accredited.
