What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

Role and Responsibilities are to show them the path and guide them how to walk on it to make his/her life successful and always be a guiding force in their lives.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

Obviously good and healthy behaviour and being a good mentorship is maintained. Understanding their problems and trying to solve them to the extent it is possible.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry oriented?

Understanding the current trends which are now available in the industry and trying to imbibe them through teaching and by indulging them by various audio visual activities and letting them have industrial visits.

What are the best practices offered by the department to the students which help them gain necessary skills?

Industrial visits, more and more practicals with different types of case studies and probable solutions.

What are your views upon the placements and higher education about the students from your department or how does your department prepare students for Higher education?

Any learning at any moment of time never goes to waste. And higher education will similarly enhance the knowledge of oneself and practical approach and higher education helps to improve the vision of oneself. Department helps the students to learn the basic knowledge of the subject as it becomes the platform to raise a building of knowledge and skills to use it practically.

How do you help your student to cope up with the competition being so high in the outside world?

By strengthening their basic knowledge as well as knowing and updating the current trends which happen to be in the industry. 

Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real-world challenges?

Yes do have, various kinds of activities like projects on various topics, field survey through going to various hotels and industries, quiz contest, industrial visits, demonstration and workshop on various topic etc. and lots of practice on the skill works. 

What are the challenges you faced/ are facing to uplift the quality of education of your department?

As such, challenges which I am merely facing, is the time of contact with the students is very less, that is approx. of three and a half hours which is very less and challenging to complete the syllabus in a stipulated time. There is no library, seminar halls etc which can also be taken into account for improving the teaching quality and delivering the same to the students. 

How does the curriculum of your department/college ensure the best practice of the industry? 

It ensures the best practice as per the industry standards looking after the latest trends of the hospitality industry which are delivered to the students through various practical assignments and audio visual aid.

What are the interventions and approaches you bring in apart from curriculum to train/teach the students?

Various kinds of events and programmes like Cocktail and Mocktail workshops, innovative Mocktail competitions, napkin folding competitions, grapes storming which helps to give knowledge of how wine and other alcoholic beverages can be prepared, inviting guests from the hospitality world for guest lectures and showing them the current trends of the industry.

What do you see as the department’s/ college’s greatest strengths and how can it be enhanced?

College’s management is productive and helps nature in all aspects with maximum of opportunity and facilities that can be availed by the faculties.

What valuable advice would you like to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?

Focused and knowledge practical as well as theoretical and hard work (smart work where required) will lead the students for prosperous careers.
