What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
“Ability to mould students as per their talents and capacity”
The key driving force for me to make a career in Academics is the passion and zeal to cultivate the technical and fundamental subject knowledge inside a young and vibrant mind. The young mind is full of energy and anxiety. If they can be handled and pondered right at this age, I feel that they can do wonders. The need of the time is to nourish ethics, culture and tradition along with the fundamental education to these students. Students are to be moulded as per their interest and the right encouragement and direction will provide confidence and motivation.
What is your philosophy of leadership?
“As a leader, I assign tasks to my team and encourage them to work towards united objectives”
As a HOD of the CSE department, I have to lead my team and indirectly the University. A leader is not only one who preaches, but also one who is at the forefront. As a leader, if you want your team to succeed, you must primarily be involved on the ground level and bring others along. The success and failure of the task are the responsibility of the leader. I am a person who believes in achieving paths collectively and every member of my department whether at a lower level or higher level had to move hand in hand. A good leader is not afraid to admit his or her own mistakes. This is because it shows that he or she has the necessary skills to manage people effectively.

How can your university make itself more accommodating to students of different backgrounds?
“Zero-discrimination policies, financial support and assistance to needy students”
Education is the right of every student. As an Educational Institute, we cannot differentiate students on the basis of caste, religion, or economic background. Also, our Indian Government to supports and has made provisions for all the students irrespective of their race. Exposure to other students with different backgrounds and unique ideas can improve a person's cognitive skills. This benefit is evidenced by the number of students who improve their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The MATS University has students coming from different backgrounds from Indian society and International origins as well. We provide financial support and scholarships to needy students.
Having a diverse student body helps prepare students for success in a global society.
What do you think your responsibilities to the University and the students are?
“To be a dedicated teacher and be resourceful to help students overcome their doubts”
Aside from providing new knowledge, teaching is also a complex process. It involves involving the interaction of the students and the teacher. As a Head of the Department, my role and responsibility become more towards the students and the University. I have to provide a healthy and favourable environment for the smooth functioning of academics. The department and the University have to create opportunities for better employment of the students.
