IFIM B-School appoints Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay as the Director

12^th July 2018, Bengaluru: IFIM Business School, Bangalore, India’s premier AACSB accredited B-school, announced the appointment of Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay as the Director of the institute. 

Commenting on his appointment, Dr. Atish said, “IFIM Business School has a global outlook and is poised for quantum growth post AACSB accreditation. IFIM enjoys the locational advantage of being in Bangalore and a unique approach to teaching-learning where the students have the opportunity to customize their learning pathways. IFIM as an institution promotes academic entrepreneurship and encourages the faculty to innovate, experiment and disrupt the existing norms and conventions. I believe that existing models of academic value creation, including delivery, will get disrupted going forward, and academic institutions need to ready themselves for the needs of tomorrow. This is in line with IFIM’s vision of grooming professionals for new-age ventures.”

On being asked why he joined a school which is not as highly ranked as SPJIMR or IMTG, Dr. Atish responded, “One must look at the future as to who is going to be a disruptor and a leader of tomorrow, and to my mind, IFIM is one such institute in the management education space. The best example is the recent Football World Cup – people had bet on the established teams like Brazil, Germany, or Argentina, and none of them even made to the semi-finals. Established norms are going to be challenged, and new leaders will emerge as has happened in this world cup. I feel excited to be part of a journey which challenges the conventions and endeavors to innovate and set the standards for the future.”

Commenting on Dr. Atish’s appointment, Mr. Sanjay Padode, Secretary – Center for Developmental Education (CDE) and founder of IFIM Business School, expressed, “IFIM Business School was awarded the coveted AACSB accreditation recently. The school was able to achieve this in 53 months primarily due to the entrepreneurial spirit of its faculty and staff. Dr. Atish has previously held leadership positions at three top management institutes of the country, namely S P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai; MICA Ahmedabad; and Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (IMTG), the last one being the Director at IMTG, prior to joining IFIM.  During Dr. Atish’s tenure at IMTG, the institute received the AACSB accreditation, bounced back to reclaim its position amongst the top 10 B-schools of the country, and saw the ‘Sustainability and Social Responsibility (SSR)’ initiative getting the ‘Innovations That Inspire’ award of the AACSB.

Dr. Atish holds Ph.D. in Marketing Strategy from Aligarh Muslim University and loves to interact on topics like – Strategic Marketing, Brand Management, and Retail Shopper Marketing. He has consulted and conducted training programs for leading organizations including MNCs. He has also published in top global journals and has presented at global forums across the world. Dr. Atish dreams of creating a ‘Global Indian B-School’.
