Mrs. Shivani Kaushik is a dean Faculty of Design at JECRC University. She has done her MA in English and Political Science and B.Ed. from the University of Rajasthan. She has experience of over 21 years in teaching and continues to serve as an Examiner & Board of Study Member dealing with the subject of Jewellery in various other Colleges and Universities.

How do you see the Design field evolving in the next few years?

“The past ten years have been a roller-coaster ride in the design world”

Technology changes over every decade, but in the 2010s, the digital sphere went through a rapid growth spurt, testing designers’ ability to adapt like never before. Indeed, as technology improves 3D visualization, and virtual reality services already offered by some start-ups, to be at the heart of most design decisions. 


What are some insights into the program that your department is offering?

“JECRC is encouraging innovation and creativity in students”

The Faculty Of Design at JECRC University believes in Learning by doing different realistic projects in the university itself. In such projects working to such briefs they learn commercial context, the needs of the end-user, decision-making skills, problem-solving skills and communication skills are further enhanced, which are integrated with previously acquired skills and knowledge to complete realistic live projects.


What placement approach is followed by your department?

“We invite industry experts to introduce our students to latest industry trends and design methodologies”

We are in the regular practice of organizing industrial visits for the students wherein we take them to national level exhibitions, ongoing live premium sites, etc. Owing to its consistent performance in recent years JU receives top-notch companies every year for recruiting its students.

“100% students got placed in the last academic year”

What will be your advice to the students of your department?

“Everywhere Design is, Design was and Design will be”

Design is the cause; Design has existed and gives existence, gives reasons to exist as the pathway and steps to ongoing cycle. Come and have experience, the thrills and challenges are welcome and overcome with new goals finding the strength for remarkable execution of ambitions, endeavours and achievements.
