Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any).

Aman: It was an extempore round followed by a personal interview. The panellists gave 1 minute to think and 5 minutes to speak on the topic. They also allowed me to switch the topic as I wasn't confident with the one given by them.

I would advise the candidates to practise as many previous year extempore topics as possible.

Collegedunia Team: What was the WAT/GD Topic?

Aman: The topic given- Technology and Employee Autonomy

Collegedunia Team: What was your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Aman: The points I had put forward during the extempore round were-

-work from home giving flexibility.

-great resignation.

-shifting work culture because of the internet and technology.

-gig workers having to work overtime despite having freedom.

Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Aman: There were 3 panel members, and all of them were the faculty members of IIFT. It was a completely online interview process that lasted around 19-20 minutes. It wasn't a stressful interview, and the panellists encouraged me to be comfortable throughout the process.

Collegedunia Team: Mention at least 5 questions that were asked in IIFT Delhi Interview and how you responded to each of them?

Aman: The questions asked during the Interview are:

Ques 1. Mention the different types of taxes that the government charges?

Ques 2. Since you are working in the tech industry, mention some recent developments in the same, and what are your opinions?

Ques 3. Since your father works in the aviation industry, mention some recent developments for the same?

Ques 4. What do you know about the Boeing aircraft crashes that happened a few years ago?

Ques 5. Do you think aircraft manufacturing companies must focus more on safety or on cost efficiency?

Collegedunia Team: Mention any three reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Aman: The three main reasons were:

1) IIFT, being a tier-1 college, offers better placement opportunities than most of the other colleges.

2) The MBA (IB) offers a regular MBA with a special focus on International Business, which is an area I'm quite interested in.

3) The location of the Institute being in a metro city, offers close proximity to industry and corporate locations.

Collegedunia Team: What was the reason for you not converting other colleges?

Aman: I was unable to convert the top CAP institutions such as IIM Trichy or Udaipur despite a decent interview process and it was because I had a poor CAT percentile of 92.8%.
