How do you plan the marketing and Administration of your school?

“A structured administration plans and executes the student-driven activities at this institute”

The Institute has an approved organisational structure. Each employee is given the job responsibilities and reporting pattern at the beginning of his/her induction and later on seniority or promotion. The Curriculum review of the Institute is done keeping in mind the economic, social and political development in the business sector. It is done in March/April every year. The review will finalize the program we plan for the Institute and the faculty for teaching different courses. We upgrade the curriculum by bringing in new modules, new electives and induct innovation. These include areas such as digital, Entrepreneurship, International Business, Finance Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, and Communications Management. These programs of the Institute are marketed by the Marketing department personnel guided by the Director and counsel the students regularly.

Do you have any extracurricular programs to enhance the skills of the students?

“Motivational lectures, lessons in finance management and hands-on workshops”

At the beginning of the academic year, the students are given orientation to the discipline of management, curriculum, and the faculty of the Institute. Throughout the first year, the students are given special counselling classes to tread through their new life. Following Beyond syllabus activities are included in the curriculum and sessions planning:

  • Thought Leaders speak series
  • Periodic workshops on selected subjects
  • Industry expert sessions
  • Manthan - the book talk series
  • Finance Education workshop
  • Stock Ki Pathshala (Discussions on the stock market)

What are some of the biggest challenges for higher education?

“Developing industry aligning syllabus and practical aspects of skill-based education”

  • A need to increase the inclination towards experiential learning.
  • Incorporation of digital knowledge in all areas of management.
  • Changing the model of SIP and learning from a traditional model to alternate models given the pandemic.
  • A need to incorporate Human value in the education curriculum

What is your philosophy of Leadership?

Be a friend, philosopher and guide to the students, faculty and support staff”

I believe in moving with the flow of time in terms of attitude, skill and technology. A leader has believers more than followers. I discuss and delegate the job to subordinates to create an opportunity for them to excel.

How do you tend to establish a healthy environment in your Institute?

“We follow responsibility with accountability and appreciate the good performance of the people”

We take the lead role to create a healthy, hygienic and conducive learning environment. I have periodic meetings with the faculty and staff regarding the office work and understand their grievances. With this, the leader can develop mutual trust, establish healthy relations amongst the team and earn respect.

What types of projects are the students working on in your institute?

“The Projects are allotted considering the area of specialization the students plan to take in the second year”

The Subject faculty, in consultation with the Area Chair, give individual or group projects to the students. The Corporate Relations and Placement Office organize the Summer Internship Projects in collaboration with the industry. The students are expected to complete it during the 10-12 weeks period on completion of the first-year courses. The summer internship is part of the curriculum and the certificate of completion of the SIP is mandatory for promotion to the second year.

What would you like people to know about your Institute they may not know?

“A unique mentor-mentee program to help students in their academic journey”

  • Each student in SBS is guided by a Faculty Mentor. The Faculty Mentor is in the know of the academic progress of the student.
  • The faculty mentor meets the student individually and in a group to understand their progress, discuss all issues about academics, administration, hostel, food and other campus-related matters.
  • The subject faculty gives Individualized attention to the students. The communication channel is quick and transparent in the Institute.
  • The supporting staff of the Institute is very cooperative and consider the students as members of the family.
  • The Hostel warden and the Administrative staff create a homely environment in the Hostel and campus.
