What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Constant learning and upskilling for the current trends”

Teaching and research are my passions. As an educator, I don’t just teach the students, but upgrade them to a level. I also have to keep learning myself and acknowledge the latest trends so that I can train my students with the same. I believe learning is intrinsic and should never be stopped.

What are your roles and responsibilities to the students?

“Motivating and assisting for a better professional learning”

Being the head of the department and a teacher, I train my students through various subjective knowledge and skills required in the field. I observe active student participation in classes and practical works and inspire students to read, write and practice on a regular basis. Also, I encourage students to participate in different technical competitions in other institutes and learn to take challenges in any situation. Growing the interest of students in making a model related to practical problems, allotting the different innovative teaching learning methods to the faculty and guiding the students to learn some mathematical software and language software for easy calculation are my roles as well.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards the subjects?

“Value-added programs and practice-oriented activities”

Some open elective subjects are offered to higher semester students which are designed with industry-oriented problems and applications. Some value-added courses are also started which help gain relevant industrial training and certifications. Project-based learning, game-based learning, cooperative learning, buzz groups, field trips, library research, case studies, etc. are deployed to brainstorm students as well. In addition, we organize some expert lectures in different fields to aid students with diverse technological advancements and the latest information about the world.

How do you strategize the curriculum to make it beneficial for the students?

“Developing plans, methods and processes”

Building a solid curriculum focused on student needs at all following learning levels is helpful in describing the vision, focus, objectives and student needs. We regularly identify resources and develop experiences that meet the objectives and requirements of learners. We strategize the curriculum by collecting and devising industry-relevant topics, knowledge and materials, and then we lock down the specifics of the tasks to be performed. We always try to create students’ experiences and lead them towards defined paths for wholesome development.

How do you help your students cope with the high competition outside?

“Psychological and physical build up”

We develop a positive attitude and mindset among our students to face real-world challenges and boost their confidence to establish changes in the field. We have developed some TG (Teacher Guardian) schemes, phycological counsellor meetings and some extra support for weak students as well. Extracurricular activities are a vital element in any child’s development, often building on lessons and learnings that begin during college hours. Many sports and cultural activities are organized in this regard.

What approaches do you bring in apart from curriculum to train the students?

“Strategizing and implementing student-based learning”

Metacognition and self-regulation, collaborative learning, effective feedback and peer tutoring activities are organized on the campus on a regular basis. All these strategies, whilst being highly effective for students looked after, are likely to need whole college implementation and leadership, rather than being used only with particular students. Where these strategies are effectively implemented, students are likely to show gains in progress, leading to higher attainment and ultimately improved educational outcomes.

What valuable advice would you like to give to the students?

“Grow your skills and knowledge”

Students in any field must upskill themselves and seek internship opportunities and consider taking part in a work-study program. Always, keep your skills up-to-date and stay focused. Find a balance with your personal life, and pursue your passion with full dedication. Strive for excellence and stay motivated, build your network and actively seek opportunities.
