Being a Head of Department, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

"To offer best quality education to young minds and teach them life skills"

I am responsible for providing quality education to our students so that they can get good Knowledge, improve their skills and can take placement in reputed organizations. We also give proper guidance to our students on how to be a successful entrepreneur and start your own business. We want to make our students employers instead of job seekers considering the current scenario.

How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

"We offer an open and respectful communication forum to everyone to communicate their views and issues"

In my opinion, for good results in academics there should be healthy relations between the students and faculty. So, here in our college we have provided an open communication channel to students so that they can reach out to their faculty members without any hesitation and fear. But we also ensure that along with being transparent, this communication channel remains respectful.

How do you introduce a practical and industry oriented approach towards subjects?

"By enhancing industrial exposure of students through events and aligning them in real time projects"

The curriculum which we design and follow is based on practical learning and real time projects. As it will help them to implement whatever they learn in the classrooms. We also have industry interaction programs, so that we can get industry projects and our students can contribute to those projects by implementing their knowledge and skills. We provide them all kinds of hardware and software required to complete those projects.

Which best practices are offered by your department to the students to help them gain necessary skills?

"Students are assigned projects and personality development trainings regularly"

We assign them mini and major real time projects on a regular basis and we also provide report writing. For the purpose of improving their communication and presentation skills and to remove stage fear from them, events like seminars and webinars are organized by us.

How do you prepare your students to cope up with this competitive world?

"By updating them with latest industrial developments and teaching them pressure handling techniques"

To make our students capable enough so that they can face the outside world with more confidence, we have created as much awareness as possible for them by upgrading them for the latest trends and developments. We also teach our students how to handle pressure, because in a competitive world everyday there will be new assignments, projects and deadlines and we have to complete it well in advance. For that, one should learn how to handle pressure and not to panic as we have to accept it and do it in a certain given time.

How do you train your faculty to deliver programs to students in the best possible way?

"By upgrading their skills through FDPs, industrial interactions and conferences"

We conduct training for them and invite industry people to give our faculties insights about the latest developments of the corporate world, and these training are totally organized as per the industry standards. And Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) are also there for them and we also send our faculty members for paper presentations in international conferences, webinars and seminars.

What do you see as the college’s greatest strengths and how it can be enhanced?

"Our campus infrastructure and ambiance, our industrial relations and faculties makes us strong"

Our faculty members are the backbone of our institute and our infrastructure which gives perfect ambiance to students to study are our main pillars of strength. And our teachers are committed to the continuous progress of each student of our institute and apart from providing quality education we offer an amazing research culture to our students. We have also signed MOUs with different industries so that we can have a constant interaction with them about the latest industrial development and requirements from our students. We allow our students to do MOOC courses so they can interact with the highly ranked institutes.

Any valuable advice which you would like to give to the students to have a prosperous career ahead?

"Keep upgrading yourself through hard work, dedication and perseverance"

I would like to advise my students to put their dedication, commitment and hard work in whatever work they do be it their studies or passion. Also stay connected with the people and social issues around you because if you want to become good engineers you have to take real life problems and solve them because nowadays engineers are expected to be problem solvers but also problem finders.
