Dr. Uday Singh Rajput is currently working as Head and Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies at ShriRam Group Of Colleges, Gwalior. He has more than 14 years of work experience as a Computer Programmer, Lecturer and Assistant Professor in various companies and institutes. Also, he is a member of the Board of studies of Management and Exam Committee of Management at Jiwaji University, Gwalior. Besides, he has attended and presented papers in many seminars, conferences and workshops, and has a total of 08 Research paper publications to his credit.

How is the education system in India structured differently from other countries? 

“Emphasis on competitive preparation and relevant knowledge”

As a developing nation, the Indian education system has been developed on the pillars that support thorough theoretical knowledge and its perseverance with time. Our system prepares the students for some of the toughest competitive exams in the world through maximum retention of this information among the student community. 

How does the curriculum of your department ensure the best practice of the industry?

“Inculcating business development activities and training programmes”

Basically, the curriculum of MBA ensures that the students are given opportunities to participate in various academic and educational activities. We encourage and facilitate them to take business incubators, entrepreneurship development programmes (EDPs), interdisciplinary business projects and competitions, etc. which are very useful in the best practice of the industry. Also, internships are provided to train students in relevant industries in the field. 

What do you think your roles and responsibilities are as a professor?

“Organizing educational reforms and innovative thinking”

In today’s times, it is important for a teacher to be a wholesome educator. They should focus on improving the learning experience of a student. It is the duty of teachers to shape the future generation in the most perfect way possible. I inculcate different approaches to help students in theoretical and practical learning, and always encourage their creativity and new ideas.

What do you think should be the college’s top priority over the next 10 years?

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education?

“Balancing advancements and core values”

I see the biggest challenge, in the current scenario, is implementing guidelines according to the higher education policy for the students as they may lead productive lives in a civilized society. Establishing students as serving engines of opportunity and social mobility, creating new knowledge of every kind, including work that either has no immediate market value or may even threaten some commercial end are the potential challenges for higher education. Also, encouraging and protecting the thoughtful critic and the dissenting voice, and defending cultural, moral, and intellectual values among students and management as well.
