Dr. Pankaj Sharma is the Head of Department at ShriRam Group Of Colleges, Gwalior. He has completed his M.Pharm after qualifying for GPAT and is a dedicated professional in his field. During his Ph.D. he has worked on “Development of Transdermal patches for malaria treatment”. This work was also sent for getting a patent. He is responsible for instilling a passion for the study of pharmaceuticals in each of his learners.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector? 

“Innovating and learning continuously is critical”

I believe that continuous learning and innovation is the key factor for connecting me to the education sector. It allows me to be a constant learner and understand the mindset of young individuals. The exchange of thoughts and ideas in this field is remarkable.

What is your philosophy of leadership? 

“A direct leader and follower through example”

I consider myself to be a direct leader who leads by example. My preference is to distribute responsibilities and lead projects, but I also like to remain active and encourage my team by demonstrating that I am willing to help them out when they need it. 

How do you plan the marketing and administration of your institute? 

“By understanding the brand perceptions and future goals”

Our goal here is to describe current marketing operations and brand perceptions at our college- the good, the bad, and the ugly.

How does the curriculum ensure the best practice of industry?

“Implementation of the curriculum by industry at the educational institution” 

Industry involvement in curriculum design and delivery at institutions is critical in today's educational system for students to be prepared for work. This will help students become industry-ready by bridging the gap between industry and educational institutions. In this situation, a variety of models are available. In the first approach, the industry will create the course according to its needs and provide it through its trainers to the collaborating institutes. Students must pass a final exam, and those who pass will be hired in those fields. In a different paradigm, the industry will choose the candidates for employment and then deliver tailor-made courses to those individuals through professors who have received particular training through the industry-sponsored Train the Trainer workshops. 

What do you think should be the institute’s top priority over the next 10 years? 

“Hiring and retention of qualified faculty and management members”

We have to modify people's motivations to reform an institute.

  •  If we want the right department head, pay a high compensation.
