Dr. Meenakshi Maheshwari is the Principal at ShriRam Institute of Professional Studies, Gwalior. She has completed her Ph.D. and MBA as part of her academic qualifications. Her subjects of expertise include General Management, Marketing Management and Human Resources Management. She is a member of the Indian Accounting Association and contributes to it passionately. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

"I feel most encouraged when I am with my students exchanging knowledge and ideas”

While I held key positions at an educational institute, I found that constantly learning and being upskilled for the current trends was important. Since finishing my PG, I have been involved with the education sector. I always motivate the students to learn for a better future and enable a healthy exchange of thoughts.

The best practices are implemented by benchmarking the industry standards and the best of the academic institutions. We provide our students with the knowledge and scales currently used in the industry and Academia. We organize industrial trips, guest lectures, workshops, seminars and hackathons at our College in Association with the best of the corporate houses and the institutes. Also, following the curriculum designed by the university provides a better platform for the students.

How could your institute be more welcoming to students of different backgrounds?

As part of the planning process, all our programs, divisions and units will be improvised. We plan on investing in more research facilities and have an adaptable brand strategy. Also, regularly review and evaluate current programs. Our goal is to continue to provide a high-quality education at a competitive price.

We are proud of our affiliation with the university. Also, the faculties and support staff along with artistic and cultural programs are our USP points. We entrust our students with creative and live projects and conduct brainstorming exercises to generate analytical skills. As an educator, our role is to motivate and direct students towards the right direction. Students should be able to know the usefulness, feasibility and applicability of Information. There is a thin line difference between knowledge and information. We should understand this difference. Students should believe in themselves. Believe that they can succeed and will find ways through different obstacles. Also, young people everywhere need to develop a greater breadth of skill to evaluate and apply knowledge. Skills like communication, teamwork, critical thinking and flexibility have always been important for work and life.
