Being the Principal of this college, what is your philosophy on leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“Growth happens when everyone works together towards a common goal”

Being the Principal, I want to give the faculty members full freedom to teach value-based education among students. I also would like to provide cutting-edge technology and the art of state equipment for the benefit of students. I want to train the students so that they should leave the institute like a finished product.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“There is a definite change in the teaching and learning process”

Earlier, the availability of study material and resources was limited. Even now, many resources are available for the students and faculty to learn and practice. But I observe most of the students are not utilizing available resources for their career growth. People holding crucial positions in education institutions should try to teach and induce habits to help them build skills and make them learn. Skills will come automatically to the students, provided they learn the basics and problem-solving skills. But the majority of the colleges/institutes are concentrating only on the results and forcing the faculty to be liberal while assessing the student's skills. The education system should change and should see that skills are developed from childhood onwards.

How does the curriculum of your College ensure the best practice of industry?

“We inculcate and implement practical learning to help students grow”

The curriculum for any college/institute should be more practical oriented and in line with industry needs. Students should learn things by doing themself. Learning it by doing concepts should be adopted. Freedom should be given to colleges to implement what is best for the benefit of students. We need to be in touch with the industry and find out the areas in which they need a workforce. Based on the curriculum should be designed. More skill-oriented courses need to be introduced in the curriculum. Faculty also should be trained in the industries and then allowed to teach for the students.

What do you see as your College’s greatest strengths?

“Our skill based programs acts as a pillar of strength”

We have introduced a lot of changes in the curriculum and introduced skill development courses right from second year onwards. There are six skill-based departments for the development in the curriculum. Also, internship concepts play a significant role to help our students. The greatest strength of our institute is an examination system.

What are some plans that you’re currently (or will be) designing for your College and students?

“We want to experiment with the class to lab concepts for the students”

Whatever we teach in the class students, we implement in the laboratory. We want to introduce the “Learn it by doing” concept. We have signed several MoUs with industries and the best higher learning institutes. We want to explore the possibility of collaborative research with those institutes. We are insisting that faculty publish research articles only in the Web of Sciences only. We encourage the faculty by way of incentives for their contribution to research.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Basic foundation serves as a stepping stone towards complex concepts”

Students should make use of all the resources for their betterment and should not misuse them. They should learn the basics and should be strong in the subject basics. They should have better communication skills which include L SR W. They should focus on their goals and try to work smart to reach their goals.
