What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“My commitment to students is to constantly motivate them”

As a teacher, my main role is to focus on students, motivate them, and make a healthy class environment. They should be able to develop an interest in their subject. I am responsible for providing them with practical experience instead of just theory to ensure that they understand the concepts.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

“Respect for each other is essential in establishing healthy relationships”

I try to spend extra time with the students and fellow faculty, taking the time to understand the students' problems. I guide them whenever they have an issue, helping them with their future plans. My fellow faculty members can rely on me to help them if they need it. Birthday celebrations and other special occasions are celebrated together, giving full respect to everyone involved. This contributes to creating a healthy relationship.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects?

“Live demonstrations and research-based pedagogy”

Students are given a demonstration of the equipment and instruments used in industries. Performing a practical encourages the students to go for research so that they can see how the work is done in the industry. We also arrange industry-oriented seminars, research-oriented tours, quiz competitions, and industrial tours for the students, which develop their skills.

How do you strategize the curriculum and how often it gets updated?

“Innovative and interactive methodologies for easier learning”

I always make sure that my curriculum is simple enough for each student to understand, whenever I develop it myself. My approach to teaching is using flow charts and figures, explaining all topics with some common examples. The planning stage includes the content and the method. The implementation stage involves evaluating the results.

How does your department prepare students for Higher education and placement?

“Training via result-oriented activities for higher studies and placement”

My knowledge is that our department does extremely well in student placements. Many students were selected through campus placements last year. However, I would like to see more MNC companies visit our campus and select our students. We always organize online quizzes for higher education in our department to motivate students. Each faculty member recognizes the student's potential and tries to recommend a higher education that suits their abilities. Thus, the student can excel in competitive exams needed for their higher education.

How do you help your students cope with the competition in the outside world?

"Prepare them for competition by improving their skills"

My goal is to motivate my students, tell them to improve their skills and prepare them for competition. As a teacher, you should tell your students that they should not just study for exams but also learn new things outside the classroom. And improve their communication skills. In my opinion, bookish knowledge is not enough to be competitive in the outside world.

How does the curriculum of your department ensure the best practice of the industry?

"Exposure to and knowledge of the industry through practical learning”

Providing students with necessary industrial training so they can gain some experience is essential. Our goal is to teach students about how the industry organizes and manages its documentation. Our department recently organized a one-day industrial tour to Himalaya drug laboratories, which gives students a chance to observe the industry from the inside.

What do you see as the department’s greatest strengths?

“Our greatest strength is our ability to work together”

As a department, I see teamwork as the greatest strength, and not one person takes credit for anything, but rather a collective effort. We give every department free-hand to do its job without any pressure from management, so every individual can perform optimally.
