Top university in NZ and I am curious and innovative, so chose engineering.
Course Curriculum :
It is pretty good, the lecturers are good and the content is relevant. I did some research experience as part of the university.
Exams :
Just the NCEA scores required for admission. You apply for the course you want and the scores are directly taken from the national database of school results.
Placement :
Pretty good, lots of companies visit campus and provide exposure to companies. Some such companies are Fisher and Paykel and Beca. Lots of careers and CV events on campus.
Internship :
I interned at The Photon Factory, $6000 for 12 weeks of work over the summer, and the process to get an internship was through attending an on campus event and following up with the institute.
Events :
All are really good quality, lots of opportunities available. Personally, I took part in cheerleading, dance, drama, and some academic clubs and they were highly enjoyable.
Fees :
29,822 USD
Scholarship :
Yes, I got the Faculty of Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship, for $1000 and I had to write about why I chose engineering.
Faculty :
The faculty and staff are mostly quite knowledgeable about their subjects and accomodating. They are approachable. One professor called Nasser Giacaman took really good care of me when I was going through a difficult time in life, and left an incredible impact on me.
Hostel :
No, living at home.
