Molecular and Translational Neuroscience is:

• Exploring the molecular mechanisms of neuronal diseases
• Research to test innovative therapies (drugs, new forms of application)
• Investigating molecular neurobiological issues with bridge between cellular and pharmacological basic research, molecular neurobiology, behavioral physiology, and diagnostic and pharmacological applications

• Research leading to improved diagnostics

Participation in biology and biochemistry and of institutes of preclinical and clinical medicine. Habilitated staff of the company Boehringer Ingelheim to show the practical side of interactions between basic research and therapeutics development.

Module topics are introduced with an overview and then students are guided to specific content and new insights. Through internships and scientific papers, this knowledge will be strengthened. Contents from research fields such as Neurobiology, Molecular and Translational Neuroscience, Neurological/Psychiatric Diseases, Advanced Neurobiology, Medical Neuroscience, Behavioral Physiology, Advanced Molecular, and Translational Neuroscience, Advanced Methods in Molecular and Translational Neuroscience. Elective lectures from areas such as Biochemistry, molecular Psychology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Imaging.
