The Darmstadt University is located in Germany. The university was found in 1877 and has been characterized by a special pioneering spirit. Through outstanding achievements in research, teaching, and transfer, the Darmstadt University opens up important scientific fields of the future and continually opens up new opportunities for shaping society. It offers various undergraduate and graduate programs. Thus there are 7 Bachelor’s degree programs and 8 Master’s degree programs. There are 5 campuses with 164 buildings, spread across 309,000 sq. meters approximately. There 275 are research associates and 28 professors. In the winter semeste, 25,170 students were enrolled, out of which 32% were female and 19% were foreign students.

For the summer semester, the application deadline is extended to 20 August. The application process is already underway for many courses of study for the winter semester. The courses in the summer semester will be taught digitally. The courses requiring the physical presence of students and instructors (such as laboratory work, excursions) will be possible again in exceptional cases starting on June 1.

Certified copies of school-leaving certificate in the original language, and a certified translation.
Certified copies of the list of grades and subjects in the original language, and a certified translation.

If the student has attended university, in addition to the above documents he/ she has to provide the following documents as well.

If the student would like to apply for a Master's program and is in the last semester of his/ her Bachelor's degree, he/ she has to apply and submit the following documents as well.

Certified copies of certificate regarding prospective graduation from the university at which you will complete the bachelor's program in the original language, as well as a certified translation.
Certified copies of the transcript of records for each semester in the original language, as well as certified translation of the transcript.

Note: All documents are to be submitted in either English or German. Documents in any other language are to be translated. Translations must be certified by the German embassy or consulate. Alternatively, the documents must be translated by a certified (vereidigte) translator in Germany.

Language Requirements For Programs Taught In German:

The student has to pass the “Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang” (DSH-2) exams as evidence that spoken and written command of the German language is adequate for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs with the language of instruction of German.

Student Visa Requirements For International Students

An international student is required to have some of the documents ion order to take admission at the Darmstadt University.

Document Requirements

Duly filled out and signed a national visa application form.
Valid national passport.
Two photocopies of passport.
Certificate of birth.
Marriage certificate. (If applicable).
Your child’s certificate of birth. (If applicable).
Three recent passport-sized photographs.
Photocopies of previous German residence titles. (If applicable).

Proof of Financial Resources (One of the following)
- 10,236 EUR deposit confirmation at a German blocked bank account.
- Letter of commitment and evidence of parent’s income records and financial assets.
- Letter of commitment by a German resident “Verpflichtungserklärung”. This letter is taken at the Alien’s Registration Office, by the German resident whose going to cover the costs during the studies.
- Scholarship awarding certificate. It must show the number of costs it covers.
- Bank guarantee issued by a recognized German bank.
Proof of University Admission.
- Confirmation of admission in studies “Zulassungsbescheid”, issued by a recognized higher education provider in Germany, showing the starting date of studies and the language of teaching.
- Proof of conditional admission “Bedingter Zulassungsbescheid” and a confirmed intensive course “Intensiv-Sprachkurs”. The letter must show the student is conditioned and confirmed to participate in an intensive language course before getting the final university admission. The course must last more than 6 months, with not less than 18 hours of lessons in a week.
- Proof of conditional university admission.
  - Letter from “uni-assist”.
  - Confirmation of admission as an applicant.
  - Communication with the university, regarding conditions for final admission.
Proof of having paid the language course. Accompanied by a confirmed place in the course. The payment must cover at least 3 first months.
Confirmation of admission in a university preparatory course “Studienkolleg”.
- Proof of conditional university admission.
  - Letter from “uni-assist”.
  - Confirmation of admission as an applicant.
  - Communication with the university, regarding conditions for final admission.
- Proof of having been confirmed as a participant in the course.
Evidence of earlier education.
