CBSE class 12 result 2023 will be declared in the month of May 2023 tentatively for arts, commerce and science streams. Students will be able to check their scores on the official website results.cbse.nic.in. The credentials to check CBSE 12th result are roll number, school code, DOB and admit card ID. 

  • The online result will be provisional and original marksheets will be provided by the schools later.

The Central Board of Secondary Education releases result of CBSE class 12 on its official website. However, students can access their results through various other methods including:

  • SMS Mode
  • IVRS
  • DigiLocker or UMANG Application

Steps to Check Result through Official Website 

This is the most common and preferred method to check CBSE class 12 result. In order to check the results, the candidates will be required to visit the official website and enter their login credentials. Given below are the steps to check the result.

Step 1: Go to the official website - results.cbse.nic.in 

Step 2: On the homepage, click on ‘CBSE Class 12 Result 2023’ link.

Step 3: The result login window will open up on the screen.

Step 4: Enter your roll number, school code, DOB and CBSE 12th admit card ID in the appropriate fields.

Step 5: Click on the ‘submit’ button. CBSE 12th result will appear on the screen. 

Step 6: It is recommended to take a printout or screenshot of the class 12 result for future reference.

Steps to Check Result via SMS

In case of any network issues, students can use SMS facility to access their results. The steps to check result through SMS are as follows:

Step 1: Type an SMS in the format: cbse12_Roll No.

Step 2: Now send this message to 7738299899.

Step 3: CBSE class 12 result will be received on the same phone number through SMS. 

Check CBSE Class 12 Result via IVRS

IVRS means Interactive Voice Response System. With this method, students can check their result by calling on a number. The number is provided below: 

  • For Delhi subscribers - 24300699
  • For other subscribers of the country - 011–24300699

Result through DigiLocker or UMANG Application

CBSE also releases digital marksheets through DigiLocker and UMANG mobile application. Students can download their result through these apps by following the below steps:

Step 1: Download and install the respective mobile applications in your phone. 

Step 2: Login with your credentials. The credentials to check the CBSE 12th result will be provided to students through SMS.  

Step 3: After successfully logging in, go to the result section and access your result. 

Note: CBSE has introduced a 6-digit security PIN for DigiLocker accounts for class 10 and 12 students. Schools can download the security PIN through cbse.digitallocker.gov.in and share it to the students individually.  

Steps to Access Result through SMS Organizer App

You can also check your result through SMS organizer app by following the below steps:

Step 1: Open the Google play store and install the SMS organizer app.

Step 2: Open the app and allow for contacts, SMS, storage etc.

Step 3: Now register for the notification of CBSE class 12 result 2023 declaration.

Step 4: On receiving result notification, open the link provided in the notification bar.

Step 5: Enter roll number, admit card ID, school code and centre number and click on submit.

Steps to Calculate CGPA

Students can calculate their class 12 CGPA by following the given steps:

Step 1: Add the grade points of all the subjects.

Step 2: Now divide it by the total number of subjects.

Step 3: For example, if your grade points are 7, 8, 9, 7, 10, then your total CGPA would be = (7+8+9+7+10) / 5 = 8.2

Steps to Convert CGPA into Percentage

To convert CGPA into percentage, students should follow the below steps: 

  • Calculation of overall percentage = CGPA X 9.5
  • For example, if your CGPA is 8.2 in CBSE class 12 result, then the overall percentage is 8.2 × 9.5 = 77.9%

Process of Revaluation

CBSE Class 12 Result 2023: Revaluation 

Students who are not satisfied with their class 12 marks can apply for rechecking of their answer sheets. The application window for revaluation will be activated from May 2023. Students have to apply online and pay a fee of Rs. 500 for each subject. The detailed process of revaluation is given below:

  • Verification of Marks: Students will have to first apply for verification of their answer sheets for any error in totalling of marks or unchecked answers. Once the verification is done, the students will be informed about their updated result. 
  • Photocopy of Answer Sheets: If a student is still not satisfied with the verification, then they can request for obtaining photocopy of their answer sheets. Students can obtain photocopy of answer sheets only for the subjects for which they applied for revaluation. Students who did not apply for verification can not obtain their answer sheets copy. 
  • Revaluation: After obtaining copy of answer sheets, students can compare their answers with the correct answer and in case of any checking errors, they can apply for re-evaluation of those answers. Re-evaluation will be done only for opted questions and not the complete paper.

Compartment Exams

CBSE Class 12 Compartment Exams 2023

Students who are unable to pass the exams will be able to reappear through compartment exams. Applications for the CBSE 12th ​compartment exams will be accepted in online mode by paying INR. 200 per subject. This will be the final chance for class 12th students to pass the exams.

  • CBSE class 12 compartment exams will be conducted from June 2023, tentatively.  
  • The syllabus for compartment exams will remain same as that of CBSE class 12 syllabus
  • The board will release the result of compartment exams in July 2023.
  • Students will be able to check their compartment result online by entering the required credentials.
