BSc Fashion Designing Semester 1 Subjects

  • Elements Of Textiles - Students will learn to understand the performance characteristics of different fibers, yarns and fabrics. This includes the Classification of fibers, Natural fibers- Sources, properties & end use, cotton, flax, jute, wool and silk.
  • Elements Of Fashion- This will teach students about the discussion on the course structure, Definition of Fashion, Motives for consumer buying practical and aesthetic, Clothes vs fashion, Inspirational sources of fashion (relating them to elements of fashion), Fashion Forecasting, Fashion cycle, International designers, color wheel, dimensions of color, color naming and psychological association of colors.

  • History Of Indian Costumes- The objective of the course is to give insight and input about the various aspects of the History of Indian costumes from ancient times onwards. The students learn about the historic importance, and relevance of the costumes, and take inspiration and influence for their own creations. 
  • Traditional Indian Textiles And Embroideries- Students are introduced to the traditional embroidery of various states. These are studied in detail on the basis of actual garments or accessory samples.

  • History Of Western Costumes -The objective of the course is to give insight and input about the various aspects of the history of the western world right from its origin.   • Grading -This course aims to make the student proficient in grading the pattern to different sizes both by Track grading and Nested grading.
  • Fundamentals Of Apparel Production - Students will get to know more about Ready wear- History and basic concept - Importance of ready wear, Fabric handling Inspection of fabric and its control, various methods of spreading fabric and use and the importance of markers.

It is a project in which students survey the market, identify their buyer and get the details. They select a company and design their range based on the company brief and image, Create mood boards and do fabric sourcing, keeping forecast colors and company profile in mind.

BSc Fashion Designing Semester 6 Subjects

  • Art Portfolio -The art portfolio is an expression of a graduating student’s creativity, design/ability, technical expertise and illustration and presentation skills. It should exhibit the student's inclination towards, UNIFORM FORMAT: It is important to keep all the sheets of the same size to maintain visual continuity.
  • Intellectual Property Rights- Basic Principles of Intellectual Property Rights, Patent Application procedure, Basic Principles of Design Rights, and International Background of Intellectual Property.. 
  • Fashion Art -This will help students to learn about illustration skills with special emphasis on developing a signature style of sketching, and learning to keep fabric texture and drapability in mind while doing colour rendering in different media. It also includes the Inputs in clothing details and terminology as a universal vocabulary for communication about garments are also provided.

BSc Fashion Designing Entrance Syllabus 

CEED 2023 Exam Pattern includes two parts, A & B and the exam duration is 3 hours. Candidates who clear Part A will be qualified to appear for the Part B exam. The duration of Part A is of 1 hour and The duration of Part B is 2 hours. Remember After completing Part A, then Part B will start.

The final total CEED score will be evaluated by giving 25% weightage to marks obtained in Part A and 75% weightage to marks obtained in Part B.

Environmental and Social Awareness General awareness of environmental factors such as climate, population, water, vegetation, pollution, natural resources, etc., and their implications on the design of products, infrastructure, and environment.
Design Thinking and Problem Solving This includes the Ability to understand the context, the constraints and the users, and choose the most appropriate solution for a given design problem.
Analytical and Logical Reasoning It includes topics like the Ability to analyze given information logically and choose the most appropriate solutions from a short passage.
Language and Creativity It includes the ability to understand passages in the commonly used English language. Ability to think creatively and think out of the box in terms of alternatives, ability to distinguish innovative options.
