Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF), Ernakulam is a unit of Chinmaya Mission. The Chinmaya Mission was founded in 1953 by Swami Chinmayananda, with the primary aim to spread the wisdom of Vedanta to any seeker, of any nationality, caste or group, to enrich and enable them become positive contributors to society. After the Mahasamadhi of Swami Chinmayananda in 1993, Pujya Gurudev, Swami Tejomayananda was appointed as Chairman of Central Chinmaya Mission Trust (CCMT), which is headquartered in Mumbai.
Collaboration
Chinmaya International Foundation Shodha Sansthan in collaboration with AYUSH (the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India) has undertaken to catalogue and digitalize all medical manuscripts in Kerala
The University has introduce a Certificate Programme in Sanskrit starting from academic session July 2009. This programme is a joint venture of Chainmaya International Foundation (CIF) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)
CIF also collaborates with University of Hyderabad (UoH) and International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad on a titled 'Natural Language Processing Project, ANUSAARAKA’
