Bhai Chhannusingh Chandele was the national leader before and after independence period. He was one of the eminent freedom fighter who sentenced to prison for 13 years at Yerwada Jail during freedom fighting. After Independence of India, he served the nation by various ways,

• Bhaiji was a representative of people (member of legislative assembly) of Maharashtra for two terms
• He was a president of workers union in MSRTC District Congress etc Bhaiji had a quality of strong attachment towards poor people Bhaiji was honored by the government by inviting him for first flat hoisting (August 15th 1947) in Solapur
