- The Electrical Engineering program at the University of Alberta prepares students for this rapidly evolving field by giving them a sound foundation of knowledge which they will continue to build on throughout their degree.
- Students will gain hands-on experience working on electrical devices and systems that transmit, distribute, store, control, and use electromagnetic energy or electrically coded information.
- In the Engineering field, students get two types of degree to choose:
- BSc in Electrical Engineering
- BSc in Nanoengineering
- This degree can be taken as a Co-op (co-operative education) program.
- Through the Co-op program, students will have the opportunity to complete paid, supervised work terms throughout their degree.
- Co-op programs are a great way to challenge themself, gain relevant work experience, and make connections to the industry before students graduate.
- Most co-op programs include five work terms lasting four months each, in addition to the usual eight terms (four years) of full-time study. Therefore, co-op programs require five years to complete.
- Throughout the degree, students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, participate in research, and contribute to team projects both inside and out of the classroom.
- The student-faculty ratio of this program is 21:1.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students have to complete the English (Literature and Composition), Calculus, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics subjects courses to get admission in this program.
- Students should hold an English Language Proficiency test score.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students will need to submit school results for Class XI showing a competitive average and course registration for Class XII, or Class XII mid-year results.
- Students in CBSE or CISCE schools, they present 75%+ on their final Class XII exams.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

- Reference Form/Letter: Three reference forms and letters of recommendation completed and uploaded by referees (Teachers, guidance counselors, or Professors) directly to the online portal.
- Three Letters of Reference: The online application system will notify the references and allow the student to upload their letters. Letters can be academic or business references.
- Statement of Intent: Reasons or intentions for pursuing studies in this program, including a description of prior experience.
- ELP Scores: Students have to submit their English language proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other test scores.
