  • Acadia Universities School of Nutrition and Dietetics is home to a vibrant research community and skilled faculty who will help students develop the knowledge and skills students will need for a career in this increasingly important field. Students will acquire an understanding about food and develop an appreciation for current issues in nutrition and dietetics. Students will gain solid knowledge in biology and chemistry that is applied to studies of food and nutrient metabolism.
  • Combined with courses in areas such as statistics, communications, psychology, and nutrition education, this background prepares students to work effectively with individuals, families, and communities to plan, develop and manage relevant nutrition programs. Outside of the classroom, students can participate in our Schools student society (NADS), the Canadian Association of Food Service Professionals (CAFP), Slow Food, Acadia student government (ASU), and the Acadia Farm, among many other activities.

Course Curriculum:

I think the course curriculum is very well put together for the nutrition classes. However, I do think the amount of chemistry is a lot because it almost overpowers the nutrition courses. It is also very good because of the many options you can take for a major.

Fees:

The fees are quite extensive. We are one of the highest charging universities in the Maritimes. There are also residences fees and meal plans on top of that. Tuition is often raised for no reason and random fees are added.
