Graduate Diploma in Advanced Accounting at York University is offered as 8 months teaching program.

The Graduate Diploma in this program provides Master's and Doctoral students the opportunity to specialize in the area of international and security studies.
The Diploma in Advanced Accounting (DAAc) is a concurrent program for Master of Accounting (MAcc) students who elect to graduate after completion of Term 2 of the MAcc program.
Students will take 18.00 credits of required core courses and 12.00 credits of elective courses.
The DAAc is designed to further students’ academic and intellectual abilities in all fields of professional accountancy.
The program places an emphasis on developing students’ critical thinking abilities and their capacity to operate in decision-based environments characterized by high degrees of ambiguity through applied case analysis.
A graduate diploma denotes specialization in an area, gained through intensive graduate-level study. It supplements an already established area of study or expertise and adds value and interdisciplinary perspective to a degree.
- Concurrent diploma programs allow students to explore one aspect of a field in depth while pursuing their master’s or doctoral degree.
- Stand-alone, direct-entry diploma programs provide the occasion to pursue graduate-level studies in a specialized area without completing a full graduate degree.
Schulich’s Diploma in Advanced Accounting is accredited by CPA Ontario.
Successful graduates of the program will have completed the CPA Electives and be eligible for entering the capstone phase of CPA’s accreditation program.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students have at least an undergraduate degree (though most students have already achieved a graduate degree) from a recognized university.
A GPA of at least 3.0 (B grade) out of 4.33 is required to be eligible for the program.

Indian Student Eligibility

Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:

Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Or, completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Or, completed a 3-year UG degree from an accredited institution.

Submission of GRE scores is compulsory for this program, however, it is recommended to submit a minimum 300+ score for a better chance of admission.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
