Yash Sharma Review at The University Of British Columbia [UBC], Vancouver | Collegedunia

my study experience at University of British Columbia.

Location was a big factor. The better weather, closeness to downtown played a major role. UBC being pretty reputed and the quality academic faculty made me very inclined towards this degree.

Course Curriculum :

Course load is well distributed and taught very well by the faculty. Assignments are assigned at regular time periods

Exams :

I had to write a couple of essays and 2 LOR. Mentioning in detail what inspires me and drives me really helped me a lot. Being passionate about my field and thorough about it was a good impression. Lors were written by my teachers. Essays had a very personal touch and exemplified the content.

Placement :

Co-op opportunities are great and really amazing work opportunities can be found downtown as well.

Internship :

Not yet

Events :

Campus life and extracurricular activities are very engaging and participative. They occur on regular basis and receptive in every way.

Fees :

Around $50000

Scholarship :

I received the Outstanding Student scholarship for $15000 and was considered for it by the university itself.

Faculty :

Faculty to student ratio varies from lectures. The faculty is very approachable through assigned office hours.

Hostel :

On-campus housing is very good, hospitable and honestly, it feels very important to experience that. Infrastructure is very good and there is always help available.
