Kanav Agarwal Review at The University Of British Columbia [UBC], Vancouver | Collegedunia

In University of British Columbia, my study experience.

KA
7.8 /10

There are a lot of reasons for me choosing this college. The ranking of the s course is very good, and besides that, it's a complete package for a student like me. There are proper studies, proper exposure, diversity, a lot of work opportunities, it's located in a peaceful country and university is a good mix of everything fun and studies.

Course Curriculum :

Courses are not too tough but not easy at all. They all are very time consuming and need regular attention and consistency. The curriculum keeps you busy all the time either through projects, quizzes, midterms, and a lot of other things. They always maintain some kind of pressure on you and make sure you have some of the work coming up.

Exams :

We had to submit SOPs, LORs, essay questions, a video interview question and transcripts, and a CV. We had an automated interview question which was simple and basic not too technical or tough. Just be yourself.

Placement :

I don't know much about it yet, but according to the internet, it's pretty good.

Events :

Campus life is very good and busy. There are always so many events happening around. The student societies are super active and provide a lot of opportunities. The infrastructure is very nice and well maintained and very beautiful.

Fees :

52000 per year

Scholarship :

No

Faculty :

Every course has a different ratio. For some lectures in the first year, there is a lecture strength of 150 plus with one professor. While some have 25 to 1 or 60 to 1. For labs mostly the ratio is 25 to 1. As we move to higher years the strength of students keeps on decreasing.

Hostel :

Yes, the cost varies from 800 to 1300 CAD. The housing is very nice and comfortable. We have a lot of options for rooms. The food provided is also amazing.
