Tarjani Patel Review at University Of Calgary [UCALGARY], Calgary | Collegedunia

My Perspective on the University of Calgary

TP
9.2 /10

It is one of the most prestigious universities in Canada and it happens to be in my city so I would save money on residence as I'd be able to stay at home with my family. The admission process is straightforward; between October and March, anyone is able to apply to any 2 programs of their choice and they will be evaluated on their highschool transcripts.

Course Curriculum :

It's relative information to the course and makes sense in terms of grade weightings and the expectations.

Exams :

My program is undeclared as my 2 programs of choice were filled during early admissions (October-December) and I was offered a default program as my marks still made me a suitable candidate for the university. My goal now is to transfer into the environmental sciences program and persue a bachelors in the science faculty.

Fees :

The fees are dependant on faculty, program, and amount of credits in each. There are a lot of scholarships available but none are from the university for entrance students. I'm not quite sure about the at ruction of scholarships for international students as I'm a local resident. The scholarship I am most familiar with is the Alexander Rutherford which is for local students of Alberta. Everyone will get a certain amount of money based on their grades from grades 10-12.

Examination Structure :

There are 2 exams, each worth 30% of our overall grade. Ones in the middle of the term (referred to as the mid-term exam) and the other is at the end of the course.

Faculty :

My faculty right now is the biggest faculty on campus. The arts faculty is broad as it?s not your typical music, design, etc. The arts faculty at our university also houses psychology, anthropology, and law courses.
