Alexander Vanderhoof Review at Queen's University, Kingston | Collegedunia

ALEX'S REVIEW

Alexander Vanderhoof
7.0 /10

My mother went to Queen's University for undergraduate and graduate work, and it is one of the best schools in the country. Kingston, Ontario is a very nice city and the program was a good match for me.

Course Curriculum :

The economics program at Queen's is fairly theory oriented could use a bit more practical application. However, if pursued properly (i.e study and do all of the required work) the degree primes one for professional work as an economist.

Exams :

I have only taken respective exams for the undergraduate courses in which I was enrolled in. For example, microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics, econometrics, etc.

Placement :

Non-existent.

Internship :

No, not applicable.

Events :

My birthday, St Patrick's day and homecoming.

Fees :

Tuition, other fees, houses, athletic fees.

Scholarship :

Yes, an academic entrance scholarship based on merit. Queen's offers a substantial amount of scholarships but one must be prepared to pursue on their own time.

Examination Structure :

Typically 3 hours, long answer short answer.

Faculty :

Fantastic faculty with exceptional research capacity. Overall, some teachers are better than others but that is the case for almost every school. Many of the teachers show genuine concern for students.

Hostel :

The first year in residence and then final 3 years living in off-campus accommodation in the student ghetto.
