I have been living off campus because its relatively cheap and makes a lot of difference when you look for a whole year.

I choose this university because first its the best University in Australia for my course and I wanted to study in Australia.

Hostel:

Uni provided accommodations are of good quality and safe. The biggest benefit is the on campus accommodation that would save you the travelling time. However, all of those cost money. Especially, in a city like Sydney where the lodging and housing is very expensive it really does not matter whether it is uni or external when it comes to cost.

The University of Sydney is among the top ranked universities of the world who delivers some great post graduate courses. The policy to encourage critical and systems thinking in their teaching and research is really timely and most appropriate given the era that we live in. Most importantly, the graduate courses in project management they offer are unique owing to the general subject content that covers a wide range and the industry focus.

I stay in an off campus accommodation in campden as I missed the deadline and could not apply to an on campus accommodation.

It is known for its research and research facilities and is ranked in the top 100. For my course it is ranked 19th in the WORLD.

I have not had the chance to live there, but I have looked up on some apartments that is in a walking vicinity of the school, and it is about 400-800AUD/week on rent alone to live in an area close to USYD. I have also seen that the infrastructure of transportation is easily accessible and rather cheap.

I was enrolled in New York University as a Business Technology Management student for 2 years. I was 17 at the time and felt pressured by my parents to go to a well-known university to study the same major they did. In New York, I quickly realized that I did not feel fulfilled doing my major, and struggled a lot with my mental health. Mental health is a taboo topic in my home country, Indonesia, and that fact alone fueled my life goal of helping people, and so I took a special interest in the way our brain functions in hopes of advancing science and medicine that would be useful for people in the future as well as removing the negative stigma on mental illnesses. I decided it was time to take a leap of faith and moved half way across the world to USYD as I heard very amazing things about their science and research faculty. So, here I am studying Neuroscience and Psychology in a university that I love.

The University of Sydney has a renowned globally accredited medical programme which is accepted in multiple countries. Also it is close to home, which for me is Singapore.

I am currently online. However, it is very easy to find off-campus accommodation using Facebook pages.

I transferred because the US is currently in a very bad state and not looking too bright for employment when I graduate.

No - I am renting a studio off-campus with a kitchenette, and bathroom, there is also a shared kitchen and laundry and a parking garage. It cost approximately $300 a week (water incl.) But that is very cheap for the options I came across in Sydney if you are not wanting to share a bedroom. You can always check out flatmates.com for rooms in sharehouses for a cheaper option - it is a great option especially when new to the area as it helps you establish some friends and not feel as lonely. This is what I did while I was in my first two years and it is very fun. In New my share house only cost me $170 a week and I had a massive double bedroom with a desk, and double the size of a normal closet, all utilities were included but I had to share the bathroom and kitchen. When looking at similar arrangements in Sydney, they were averaging $300 to $320 a week - sometimes without even including utilities.

I joined it because I wanted to move away from home and to NSW. The local options were also not offering the course of choice at the time. I like the atmosphere of the UoN, it is very laidback and since it is smaller than the major universities - it has more intimately sized classes. However, I love the professionalism and quality that comes when attending a university such as USYD. The overall social experience is much better at UoN but the education drew me to USYD.

Campus Life:

The campus has a blend of historical and modern buildings with world-class infrastructure. It has huge libraries with a plethora of books, spanning a diverse range of subjects. It has fast and reliable WiFi coverage all over the campus. Also, the sports facilities are of Olympic standards, including a full-size swimming pool.

No. I live in an individual studio apartment, which costs me 395 AUD/week. This is the average cost of housing. However, there are many shared apartments where you can get rooms for as cheap as 200 AUD/week.

No. I stay in accommodation just 10 mins away from campus. It is student accommodation and is near shopping malls, train stations, and various other universities. It costs 450 AUD per week and includes a gym and swimming pool and a communal kitchen.

I chose this university as it is ranked very high for their economics program. I also chose it as I have always wished to live in Sydney and it is close to my parents who stay in Melbourne.
