Ritu Vajjha Review at La Trobe University [LTU], Melbourne | Collegedunia

Reflection on my international study experience

I am very passionate about studying Human Resources. I spent significant amount time to research the courses and subjects designed by the universities. I was impressed with the range of topics covered in Human Resource in my current program at La Trobe University. I preferred La Trobe over the other Universities specifically because of the course, Master of Management - Human Resource Management.

Course Curriculum :

In my opinion, it is an all-in-one management course as it covers most of the areas under management studies such as Marketing, Accounting, Statistics and Human Resources. The faculty is very approachable, they help us by providing the right guidance at every step. I have ensured that I absorb the most from the course.

Exams :

The requirements included IELTS test. The minimum band defined by the University was 6.5. My scores: IELTS 7.0 Listening 8.0 Reading 7.0 Writing 6.5 Speaking 6.5

Placement :

At La Trobe, students interested in research are encouraged to pursue it. They are supported and provided with all the needed guidance. There is not much information on the success of international students in the placement process at the University. However, there is a career advantage program designed for all the students, and it has a very impactful outcomes.

Events :

Due to the pandemic, there were minimal extracurricular activities that were organized. La Trobe has the most informative Library, which allows us to access the journals and research papers on a wide areas of study.

Scholarship :

I have received a La Trobe International scholarship, which was granted based on my academic records. The University provided 25 per cent reduction in course fees.

Faculty :

The faculty is amazing at La Trobe University, I would like to highlight that the faculty of Human Resource Management are incredible in their ways of delivering the classes. We have activities, case study and experiences discussed in the classes. It is very helpful and adds to better understanding of the concepts and theories. Judy, Diana and David are few faculty members, whose classes I enjoyed the most.

Hostel :

I have chosen to find an accommodation by myself and the monthly living expenses would be approximately $1000 per month.
