To meet the needs of students with diverse interests the Department offers four undergraduate degrees through the College of Natural Science: BS in Neuroscience, BS in Biology with a Neurobiology emphasis: BSA in Neuroscience, and Honors Degree in Neuroscience. Each of these degree programs provide rigorous, multidisciplinary training and can serve as a foundation for a career in research, health care, academics or biotechnology.
The program of study includes foundational courses in core sciences and a three-course specialization in one of six areas: biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, physics, or psychology. The program emphasizes the acquisition of quantitative and statistical competence and will provide meaningful hands-on laboratory experiences with expert faculty and cutting-edge techniques, including intracellular electrophysiological recording, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), live cell imaging using two-photon microscopy, human psychophysics, and molecular genetics.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have an official secondary school transcript to get admission.
- Students required to maintain at least a 3.0 overall GPA.
Language Requirments:
- Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores.
- Students are required to submit an SAT or ACT score to be considered for admission.
International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
