The program’s mission is to prepare public health professionals to address community health needs locally, nationally, or internationally, in collaboration with partnering organizations and entities.
The Ohio University Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, with a concentration in Community Health, prepares students to examine the behavioral, social, and cultural factors that impact health behavior and health outcomes.
Students complete coursework related to social, behavioral, environmental, and cultural determinants of health as well as courses focused on the assessment, design, implementation, and evaluation of health interventions in rural and underserved settings.
Students who complete an MPH are well-positioned for careers in a variety of settings, including local or state health departments, community-based organizations, governmental organizations (CDC), and global health.
The MPH program consists of 42 credits.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline related to public health or equivalent from a recognized institution.
A GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 is required to be eligible for the program.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Students must complete an undergraduate degree with first-class in a relevant field from a highly ranked university in India.
Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
