Outside of the U.S. Air Force Academy, The University of Akron is the only institution in the U. S. that offers a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Systems Engineering. Our curriculum applies the principles of systems engineering to the aerospace industry, which is integral to Ohio and the region.
Student Outcomes - B.S. Aerospace Systems Engineering:
- an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering;
- an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data;
- an ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability;
- an ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams;
- an ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems;
- an understanding of professional and ethical responsibility;
- an ability to communicate effectively;
- the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context;
- a recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning;
- a knowledge of contemporary issues;
- k. an ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
1. Submit a TOEFL, IELTS, PTE-A,or SAT score.
- An SAT or ACT score is optional for admission but required for higher scholarship consideration.
2. Submit two letters of recommendation from academic references.
3. Upload or mail your academic records from all secondary schools attended. If your transcripts, diploma, or any other academic documents are not in English, you must include an official English translation.
