  • The Master of Arts is an interdisciplinary degree focus on social epidemiology and aging.
  • This program gives students an interdisciplinary approach to learning social epidemiology and aging through blend psychology, political science, social work, and human ecology coursework.
  • Students will study the health of older adults, including risk factors of disease that affect the health of the aging population.
  • Students will also examine the relationship between demographic factors, such as gender, race, SES, and health and illness factors within the aging community.
  • The program is ideal for any professional currently working in aging- and health-related areas or for recent graduates of undergraduate programs such as:

  • Students are required to successfully complete 36 credits hours, which may be completed in four semesters of full-time coursework or six semesters part-time. 
  • This program will provide students with advanced education in issues facing older adults, for the purpose of preparing them for advancement in the field of gerontology.
  • The program allows for a Thesis or a Non-Thesis track based upon the students’ desires and goals.
