In USD?s program, we have identified a short list of courses that we believe are essential for all students, and this list is enumerated below. In addition to the listed courses, a graduate student?s advisor as well as their advisory committee may require that a student take other courses (from Biomedical Engineering and other disciplines as appropriate) that are relevant to their research and career goals. Up to 21 credits of prior graduate level coursework may be applied toward the Ph.D. program at the discretion of the student?s advisory committee.

Academic Requirements:
- Applicants must have a bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education completed
- Official transcripts need to be evaluated by NACES agency
- Applicants must have minimum GPA of 2.7 in undergraduate and 3.0 in graduate coursework, if any
- Submit a statement of purpose and resume
- Submit GRE scores
- Submit three letters of recommendation out of which one should be professional from persons familiar with the strengths, weaknesses and work ethic of applicant
- Submit English language proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 79 in iBT; 550 in PBT; 8.5 in essentials
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- PTE: minimum 53
