Master of Science [M.S] [Health and Kinesiology] From University of Utah

The graduates develop their professional skills through the core classes to conduct quality program planning, evaluation, and research in a specific area of specialization of their choice in health promotion. This degree prepares students for leadership positions in university, worksite, community, and government agencies.

They offer two tracks for students to pursue:

• Thesis

The end goal is a thesis. Thesis students must write, defend, and submit a thesis that discusses the results of scientific or scholarly research on a health promotion and education topic. It must provide evidence of originality and the ability to do an independent investigation. Thesis research is approved by the University of Utah Institutional Board (IRB) and involves collecting new data.

• Non-Thesis

The end goal is a master’s project. The end goal of the master’s project is the application of all of the skills you have learned. This typically involves development of a health promotion program, piloting that program in a setting or population that interests you and evaluating the pilot program.
