  • The Master of Architecture program is built on three levels. The first level is dedicated to introducing essential disciplinary knowledge and the fundamental design skills required for the NAAB-accredited degree.
  • The second level builds upon this foundation with increasingly refined vocational knowledge and advanced professional capability.
  • The final level culminates with a year of individually directed design research, with master classes and a directed design research project (thesis) focused on the student’s emergent architectural interests. 
  • This degree fully prepares graduates for the present and future professional activities in the ever-evolving field of architecture. As an accredited professional degree, it provides a solid intellectual base of knowledge in history, technology, professional practice, and theory.
  • The studios culminate in an option-based studio and directed design research sequence, pursuing exploration of advanced and emerging topics.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

For 3 Years Program:

  • Students who have completed a four-year Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree, or its equivalent, with no prior degree in architecture, are eligible for admission to the three-year professional degree program.
  • Students require a minimum of a one-semester college-level course in physics or calculus.

For 2 Years Program:

  • Students must have a four-year architectural studies degree from a U.S. school with an accredited professional architecture program; a U.S. school that is accredited by a regional accrediting body, without an accredited professional architecture program; or an international program that is deemed equivalent.
  • Students with advanced standing are required to complete a minimum two-year residency or 4-semester units of study at USC.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Students require a 4-year Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree (for 3-year Bachelor's degree holder) earned at an institution recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Note: A three-year bachelor’s degree in any subject is not considered sufficient for graduate study at the University of Southern California. 

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.

Is Duolingo accepted in USC for MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences?

The University of Southern California does not accept Duolingo as one of its ELP tests required for international admission. The university accepts various ELP tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, etc.
