- Environmental engineering and science is concerned with the characterization and control of environmental pollution.
- Emphasis is placed on applying the fundamental principles of the basic engineering sciences through research and design to the solution of environmental problems in natural and engineered systems.
- Students may specialize in one of five focus areas:
- Environmental Chemistry,
- Surface and Subsurface Processes,
- Nuclear Environmental Engineering and Science (NEES),
- Process Engineering,
- Sustainable Systems & Environmental Assessment.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in an engineering field from a recognized university.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required on a 4.0 scale to be eligible for the program.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
