The goals of the Special Education and Child and Family Development programs are to:Provide instruction at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels that models research-validated best practice and challenges learners to aspire to excellence.Generate and synthesize knowledge through quality research that informs the preparation programs of the Department.Provide genuine and meaningful service to the public schools and other service providers that informs the preparation programs of the Department.
The Department of Special Education and Child Development faculty strive to create an academic climate in which the dignity of all individuals is maintained. Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts showing grades of the past three years
- Official transcripts should be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency
- Submit a proof of high school graduation
- Submit one essay on a topic from among the topics provided by the university
- Submit English language proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 70 in iBT (with minimum 14 in each section); minimum 523 in PBT (with minimum 46 in each section)
- IELTS: minimum 6.0 ( with minimum 5.0 in each section)
- Duolingo: minimum 105
- PTE: minimum 48
- SAT: minimum 500 in evidence based writing and reading
- ACT: minimum 19 in the English section
