Criminology is the study of the origins, extent, causes, and effects of crime on societies. You'll learn the history and practice of crime control, as well as the research skills to draw larger conclusions about the nature and effects of crime.
Your Criminology major will prepare you for careers as federal law enforcement agents and analysts, police officers, corrections officers, probation and parole officials, victim services counselors, and social justice activists. It also provides a strong foundation for graduate study in criminology, criminal justice, and law.
In addition to preparing you for advanced studies at the graduate level or in law school, our program prepares you for jobs in law enforcement, corrections, the court system, juvenile justice, and related business. Some examples include:

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have an official secondary school transcript to get admission.
- Students required to maintain at least a 3.0 overall GPA.
- Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores.
International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
