The Master of Science in Forensic Science program is one of only 16 programs in the US accredited by FEPAC, the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission.
This program prepares students for careers in various forensic science and conventional analytical laboratories, emphasizing the application of scientific methods and technologies to legal proceedings.
It may also be used to build a strong foundation for doctoral and professional studies and offers the opportunity for students to pursue a graduate certificate in computer forensics that involves additional, elective coursework.
According to the National Institute of Justice, students wishing to pursue a career in forensic science should be aware that positions in these fields usually require extensive background checks similar to those required for law enforcement personnel, and are likely a condition of employment.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biology or a related field or equivalent from a recognized institution.
A B.S. degree in forensics should come from a FEPAC-accredited program.
A GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 is required to be eligible for the program.
Students are recommended to have completed at least two of the following courses (earning a minimum grade of B in each course): quantitative chemistry (wet analytical chemistry), instrumental chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, and statistics.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Students must complete an undergraduate degree with first-class in a relevant field from a highly ranked university in India.
Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
