Hope College Review

Sydney
8.8 /10

The atmosphere and the community offered. I wanted a place that would feel like a second home and help me grow and develop as an individual. This schools location was also ideal because it is located in downtown Holland.

Course Curriculum :

The corse curriculum is rigorous but rewarding. I have to try in my classes but the professors are extremely helpful and want to see their students succeed. The is a liberal arts school so the classes not towards my major are very interesting.

Exams :

SAT I got 1300 on the SAT. I took the test three times before deciding to attend Hope College. This put me in the top scholarship bracket.

Placement :

The job placement at Hope College is extremely high. All the upperclassmen in my program I have talked to already have jobs in the field. It is also nice that they really push for students to graduate in four years.

Internship :

The Hope college does provide internships but I have not had one yet. From what other students have said they are beneficial and a good step into the door for a career. In my junior and senior year, I plan on getting an internship.

Events :

sports- athletic games at hope provide a great atmosphere Church/spiritual events- hope college is a great place to grow in your faith and has a great community for doing so Jobs- hope college offers on-campus jobs for students looking to make extra money.

Fees :

The Hope college is more on the higher tuition range for schools. However, the school was straight forward on the fee and expenses upfront. They also offer very generous scholarships and grants with the hopes of making the school more affordable.

Scholarship :

I received one academic scholarship (the presidential scholarship). I did not qualify for any farther state or federal aid.

Examination Structure :

The exams are difficult but not impossible. The professors are very helpful in properly preparing students for the exams. Hope follows a semester schedule as most colleges do the exam schedule is very typical.

Faculty :

The faculty are very helpful and inviting. They are passionate about what they do and want to see students be successful. Whenever I have needed help they have been more than willing.

Hostel :

I lived at home during my first year of school and commuted daily. They offered different activities for commuters to help them feel welcomed and part of the student body. This was very nice coming into a new place.
