Mudit Sanklecha Review at Northwestern University, Evanston | Collegedunia

my learning experience in Northwestern University.

MS
8.2 /10

Got into an honors program called MMSS, which has a campus but still within the city parameters of Chicago, great academics, top 10 ranked school, good student life including athletics, clubs.

Course Curriculum :

Really good. I enjoy college academics. Very involved in what's happening around the world. Plenty of research opportunities.

Exams :

CommonApp essays, letters of recommendation from 2 subject teachers, around 10 activities (resume), and a specific why Northwestern essay. The most important thing is to show interest in 1) field of study and 2) college of choice. One round of interview, super casual. Just the interviewer getting to know you. 30 minutes conversation at Starbucks. Nothing to worry about at all.

Placement :

Northwestern students have highly sought after. Career services report a near 100% placement record. There are both on-campus recruiting as well as off-campus recruiting opportunities. Northwestern has a strong tight-knit alumni network and a good percent of people say that's how they received their offers for jobs and internships.

Internship :

Studying remotely so lesser opportunities. I might intern in the summer of 2021.

Events :

I'm studying remotely so cannot comment. The campus, however, is really pretty. The environment is a good mix of academics and chill. Lots of parties and club events. WiFi is fine, nothing one will have a problem with.

Fees :

60000 USD

Scholarship :

N/A

Faculty :

Since I'm in the honors program, the faculty to student ratio is less than 1:25 which is absolutely amazing. There are office hours almost every day so they are super approachable. Professor Eric Schulz has had an incredible impact - he's so very intellectual and compels us to challenge ourselves.

Hostel :

There are residential dorms and colleges for students. You can opt to be in singles, doubles, or triples. The cost is around 15000 USD for a year.
