ESU review

E
9.2 /10

It's affordable, not too far from home and has a really good program for what I wanted to major in. Everyone I know who goes here didn't need loans and were able to get good jobs on graduation. They don't force dorm living either.

Course Curriculum :

It's good, but I think the number of Gen Ed classes could be decreased. There's quite a few that aren't necessary and I don't like paying for semesters where I'm taking classes I won't need in the future.

Exams :

I took the ACT and the score I received was 29. I did not take any other exams, but I plan to take the GRE.

Placement :

I'm not sure what the exact number is, but the employment rate post-graduation is very high. There are lots of opportunities from this school. Local businesses are very quick to hire from this school.

Internship :

I haven't done an internship yet, but most majors do require it. I don't know if they offer a stipend for undergraduates. But they do for students who are in the graduate programs. It is required for both.

Events :

Many clubs throw many events. They have apps and websites for keeping track of the goings-on on campus. There is always something going on for cultural celebrations, study help, or even just for fun and relaxation. There are multiple club fairs as well.

Fees :

Our fees actually went down this year. They keep a close eye on their budgets and even rollover fees to help reduce the cost to students. Most expensive supplies required for courses are provided by the school.

Scholarship :

No, I have not received any scholarship or financial aid. I transferred and they don't offer much to transfer students.

Examination Structure :

Exams are well spaced and balanced. They don't give very difficult exams close together. Finals schedule can be confusing if you aren't used to it or haven't taken them here before. They are working on improving them.

Faculty :

I like the faculty overall. I think they're a little slow to handle issues involving faculty, but my professors have always been knowledgeable and professional.

Hostel :

I live in an apartment with roommates. I never lived in the dorms, but they are recently built and are very nice and comfortable. The furniture is brand new and the maintenance is fast in the dorms.
