Harviya Review at University Of Central Oklahoma [UCO], Edmond | Collegedunia

A University with Good Environment

H
8.7 /10

I learned that they had a really good forensic science program and that made me want to go to this university. This university also was in a great location and also had the best tuition among the other colleges that I had planned to apply to.

Course Curriculum :

I personally think that the course curriculum is a healthy mixture of practical and non-practical. The curriculum that we have been following also gives us an opportunity to experience the actual work that we might be doing in the future.

Exams :

SAT, ACT, Toefl. I did not have to take any other test to get accepted into this university. They do ask you to take a placement test after you get accepted.

Placement :

We do not have a lot of options when it comes to job opportunities and placements. We do have a career and internship fair to give us the opportunity to be introduced to different companies. This fair is for all the majors and not specifically for a forensic science major.

Internship :

Our college does give us internships but is limited. I have not had an internship that was provided by the college. It also depends on the major that you are pursuing. The university does not provide internships for forensic science students.

Events :

There are a lot of events celebrated at my college. We try and celebrate important events in different cultures. Some of them include black history month, Chinese New Year, Hispanic events, etc. I do not remember all of the events but we do celebrate more than this.

Fees :

We pay the undergraduate tuition fees, then there are fees that go to the events that are happening on campus, if you are from out of state or out of the country, you will be charged extra. We also pay computer fees and every building facility fee.

Scholarship :

I have gotten a couple of scholarships from the university. The process is easy. You just have to complete an application. But it might take a while to get the money.

Examination Structure :

The exam structure is multiple choice questions with some short answer questions if you are in a higher level class. We do have quizzes frequently. The intro level classes often only have multiple choice questions and some quizzes. But as you go higher there are more short answer questions than multiple choice questions.

Faculty :

The faculty in this university is very supportive and wants the best for you. They also are highly experienced and knowledgeable.

Hostel :

I did live on campus for my freshman year. It is very easy to get a room in the dorms. For me personally, I liked living off campus mainly because of the fees. The university does provide you kind of off-campus accommodation and it is cheap I think.
